Be extra careful when you print labels. All of my packages were defaulting to "Priority Mail" even though the buyer chose "First Class". I hope it's just a glitch

I saw this today as well. It did not happen when I used bulk shipping, but while I was packing, another item was purchased.
I printed a single label and indeed Priority Mail was selected and below that it said, First Class Mail (buyer selected).
If I was in a rush and just clicked purchase label, then I would have been charged $8 instead or $4 and then I would not have even put the item in a Priority Mail mailer.
What's up with that eBay?

I had one today that selected FedEx also, I don't offer FedEx in any of my listings. good gravy. I do like that they give a notice for the quantity sold........but I'd rather have the correct shipping selection (and other things........trying to to gripe)

I think it's a purposeful gesture. First Class defaults to Priority and Priority defaults to FedEx overnight.
Print your labels with care or you may accidentally pay $45 instead of $8 to ship a small 2 pound box.

I know they will make some money on this for sure. My first one was ship 47$ overnight and that was hard not to miss. Every time you have to look so close at it now.

VOTE EARLY & VOTE OFTEN - let ebay know this new opportunity is less than desirable. At the bottom of the page after you print the label is a short survey. Fill it out every time, they'll be so overwhelmed it should go away.

The only thing that makes sense is there was some sort of greasy handshake wink wink between whoever programed this new feature and the shippers.

Also, First Class International is gone from the options.

Also, I printed a label last night and noticed that I was still charged the old Priority Mail rate. The holiday surcharge effective 10/18 was supposed to increase PM rates by 40 cents, but my padded flat rate envelope was still $7.52, as it has been all year. (I guess the APV will catch the discrepancy in transit.)

+1, yep. Apparently now a seller is required to actively override the listing's specified shipping. A total time waster for sellers and potentially a costly new landmine to avoid. Madness.

I had the same thing happen. Fortunately, I caught eBay's mistake. Not too many 8 ounce packages going priority.

Really? I just printed a FCI label last week and it was there. It actually gave me 2 options - FCI plus Standard Delivery. I had to switch it from "Carrier Package" to "Custom" for FC options to come up otherwise, the only options it gave me was to ship it via Priority Mail International

Same thing here. Why don't these people just find something that works and leave it the **** alone. Anything to cause sellers extra work seems to be the "eBay Way."

I don't think I saw that, but I will certainly try next time. Thanks for the tip.
I just bought shipping on PirateShip.

I specify Media Mail, the system defaults to Priority. Bogus change setting up sellers to make mistakes. Bonehead move, Ebay. Always tinkering with stuff that isn't broken. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that page before. And to add to the confusion buyers can now apparently suggest a method of shipping on the check-out page even if you have already specified this in the listing.
