Ban FedEx & EBay if problem not corrected.

I have thousands of transactions on EBay with 100% positive feedback. I am now reluctant to buy where it will be shipped by FedEx. It seems EBay has a deal with FedEx and EBay actually acts as the shipper in FedEx eyes when the seller creates a shipping label through them. No matter how many times I explain to the seller that we need to be able to track it and reroute it to hold for pickup or they need to ship it directly to nearby FedEx center for us to pick up it is not done. And because of heavy restrictions I can’t even get a live person calling FedEx 10x which I just did again. Either it will be attempted to ship to our POBox which won’t be delivered or they will dump it outside our warehouse without notice for someone to steal yet again. They have no signature required policy because it cost a couple of dollars more, so no knock no tag no notice. Very frustrating and complete **bleep** on EBay,FedEx and Sellers parts with everyone blaming each other. But it is the buyer who gets f’d, great business model, way to go. As I am typing this, I just get a text that it was delivered but I don’t know where!!! Thanks EBay you now officially suck.

Hmm Contact shipper and make sure it is being delivered to the address on file with eBay.

A situation exist that is a scam. Use of a tracking number that is in your area and not to your addy on file.

A tracking number scam is what you may be encountering.

As for sellers on eBay they can only ship to the addy you have on file at the time you purchase item.

I think that you are saying that rather than having the item delivered to the address that you use at payment, you want the item redirected to the Fedex pickup center or have Fedex hold the package for pickup?  There was a problem a few years ago of buyer having packages being shipped with Fedex being redirected and then being delivered to a different address than the address given on payment. Then the buyer would file an item not received claim because the item was not delivered to the payment address. I believe that ebay had asked Fedex to stop allowing redirects for items sent through their account because it was becoming a big problem.  Perhaps that's what is causing your problem?

I'm not sure if this would help but is it possible for you to use the address of the Fedex Pickup Center when you pay for the item? The seller can only print the label with the exact address that you use when you pay and I suspect that there is no place for them to ask Fedex to hold for pickup. Or, if they use Fedex could you ask them to use Fedex smartpost? Apparently it is slow but they do delivery to PO boxes.

I'm assuming that you can't have packages delivered to your street address?

Perhaps @nobody*s_perfect has a suggestion that could help?

I'm flattered that you asked for me, but I have never shipped via FedEx and I don't know about their policies.

You're @xhail99 in full control -- to provide an address where FedEx can succeed at delivery -- which you select at eBay Checkout. You don't ever need to contact the seller at all to discusss delivery logistics.

I have a seller from the east coast who sends me my packages by Fed Ex and never have a problem. They ask for a signature and ring my door bell. Could be you live where they have crappy Fed Ex workers.

Before buying, decide where you want it shipped.

If you want it shipped somewhere so you can pick up the item, ship to that address.

Have a great day.

@xhail99

It is up to YOU to provide the address YOU want the item shipped to BEFORE you pay. That is your confirmed shipping address.

It is not Ebay's fault. You say "No matter how many times I explain to the seller that we need to be able to track it and reroute it to hold for pickup or they need to ship it directly to nearby FedEx center for us to pick up it is not done." When the seller creates a shipping label for Fed Ex through Ebay, they will ONLY ship to the address you provide. They CANNOT change it, or else it will negate the seller's protections. You will also see the FedEx tracking number on your order.

I sound like a broken record, but it's up to you to provide shipping info on your order. If you want it shipped to a FedEx "holding station", it's up to you to provide that as your confirmed shipping address on the order, not in a message to the seller AFTER you pay. They will only ship to where you ask to have it shipped before you checkout.

If you don't want to use FedEx, you can use UPS or USPS. Just ask the seller before you buy the item if they can modify the listing to reflect the shipper you prefer.

Ebay is the official shipper too for USPS and UPS and if the seller prints through Ebay shipping.  But like the others posted, tell FED EX where to deliver it and they should deliver it there.
