I’ve been using EBay for over 20 years and have never had an issue with buying or selling internationally until I purchased a low value item from a seller who used Ebays Global shipping program. A shipment from Washington State to Alberta would usually take 4-7 business days (depending on the mood at customs) but when using the GSP the estimate is 9-16 days...which changed to 22 days as soon as the item arrived in their Kentucky facility. According to Google Maps I can walk from my home to the shippers ciy in 10 days so 22 days to ship is ludicrous.
I’m a regular seller/buyer for business but lucky made this purchase using my personal account. This GSP program seems like a bit of a scam seeing shipping ends up be slightly more expensive for everyone and the shipping times are atrocious. I’ll be avoiding any seller who uses the program in the future.
