Previous to Automatic returns:
Buyer contacts us we give them instructions on properly packaging item for return and provide a return label in some cases. Item arrives undamaged and is able to be put back in inventory.
Automatic returns:
50/50 chance of item is returned without any packaging materials.
Returned in a box 2 times the size of part still without packaging materials
Returned with postage due.
Anyone else seeing this?

I've experienced poorly packed returns even when I asked the buyer to carefully pack, so this hasn't gotten any worse with the automation. I have never had any arrive postage due. If they used the return label provided that shouldn't happen.

Another poorly executed change eBay.
Previously there was a chance to communicate with the customer. What is wrong? Can we fix it?
Often it is just size/exchange issue or the customer does not completely understand the product.
Now it is Amazon style ... click/return/refund .. done.
No saving the sale, no customer service needed.
Most of the time, the product will arrive back in poor shape with packaging damaged, labels gone etc.
Things are not moving in the right direction here.
