Was this listed as a PickUp only item with no Shipping Price/Option shown?

How did the buyer pay?

To answer your question...not to me...but I am sure it has happened to others.

I would suggest posting on the UK community board.  Your country may have different consumer protection laws that apply.

Although I have to wonder how long the seller is expected to warranty an antique. For the life of the buyer? LOL

They have no recourse through eBay and can't leave feedback either. They can file with PayPal. But eBay uk MBG is the same as the .com MBG--30 daya from the date of delivery to open a case. I would ignore them. If they file with paypal I doubt they will win and if they do they have to return at their own expense

It was kind of you to send the touch-up paint and varnish to the buyer.

I am amazed that this buyer has the audacity to request money or request a return as well as threaten legal action.  The item is old and used -- it is an antique.  In addition, it is obvious that the buyer is being hard in her/his use of the table and chairs as there would be no chips in the table if it were not being used.  The care of the table and chairs is now the buyer's responsibility, not yours.  So the buyer needs to be careful of her/his use of the table and chairs so that (s)he does not cause any damage if (s)he does not want to have any chips in the table and chairs.  This buyer needs to take responsiblity for her/his actions as (s)he now owns the table and chairs:  the time period for a return (which would have been immediately following delivery of the table and chairs) has passed.
