Anyone mail a package via USPS that is very late and not updating on tracking?

Passing 10 days since I mailed 2 packages priority mail.  Neither has been delivered and the only time either appeared on the tracking info was the day I went to the post office. I launched a search for both online but so far nothing. Anyone else going through the same thing? Anyone have packages that eventually started moving or are they still stuck in limbo?

Anyone mail a package via USPS that is very late and not updating on tracking?

Just one example of the zillions not moving:

Opened a package research case that was closed 2 days later without any reason given why it was closed and still not moving.

There's plenty of media reports about all the USPS delays too.  Even though USPS was still publishing 2 and 3 day priority mail delivery and Dec. 19th as last day for Priority mail to arrive before Christmas, 'anonymous' USPS sources were saying early last week that Packages would not arrive by Christmas.

Anyone mail a package via USPS that is very late and not updating on tracking?

USPS® provides several tools and options to help determine where your mailpiece is in the mailstream and if it is delayed or not. Sometimes packages are delayed or rerouted because of unusual circumstances. Before contacting us, please check the mail delivery standards, USPS Tracking® page (if available), and/or contact the shipper for further information on your expected mail.

When will my letter carrier or mail arrive?

We do not have the ability to find out when a carrier or delivery person will arrive at a specific location. The volume of mail fluctuates daily; therefore, delivery times are not guaranteed. All deliveries should be made by 5:00 p.m. local time Monday through Saturday. Unusual circumstances (such as traffic, staffing fluctuations, severe weather, natural disaster, changes in carrier route, etc.) can cause deliveries to be made after this time.

Please Note: Priority Mail Express® mailpieces and Amazon parcels are the only pieces of mail delivered on Sunday.

When is mail considered late? Check the mail delivery standards.

Delivery time varies from one class of mail to another. It may be possible that the mailpiece is still in transit and is not lost or delayed depending on what class of mail is being used and how long ago it was mailed. The following chart outlines the delivery standards for various mail classes and indicates how long you should wait before you contact customer assistance with a concern.

Check USPS Tracking®

If you have a tracking number for your item you may go to the USPS Tracking® page and enter the tracking number from the mailing label or receipt. Click here to view sample tracking numbers by mail service. Enter up to 35 tracking numbers separated by commas and click 'Track.' The most recent tracking status of your mailpiece(s) should appear.

If there is no status available or the information has not changed since the last time you viewed it, check back regularly as information is updated periodically throughout the day. If you have questions about the status of your mailpiece, you may contact us.

Contact the shipper

If you DO NOT HAVE the tracking number from the mailing label or receipt (recipient). If you were notified by a shipper that they have sent out a package and believe it has been delayed or possibly lost, contact the mailer of the item and request them to:

Track the item; or
Email us with as much detail as possible and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
Who do I contact if my magazine / periodical is late?

If you are experiencing a delay in receiving magazines or periodicals, please contact the publisher of the magazine to ensure they have your correct information and the subscription has not expired.

Who do I notify if my mail is late?

Your local Post Office™ location should be able to address most of your concerns. Often there are identifying marks on an envelope that pinpoint the cause of a delay. Record the delivery date on the envelope and present to your local Post Office™ location for examination.

It is looking that way. I hope powersellers have understanding buyers otherwise some sellers might have their businesess wrecked by bad feedback

Anyone mail a package via USPS that is very late and not updating on tracking?

Most of my tracked packages in the last 2 weeks have shown my hometown PO scan, then nothing. They've shown up delivered with no interim scans too. Many are past due dates (hate bays estimated delivery times).

The majority of customers are pretty understanding and know what's going on right now. Some are demanding refunds after the minimum time allowed. Mostly low feedback, first time customers making the demands and complaints. The ones who have been around a while know what's up. It's not rocket science why things are the way they are but some refuse to accept any explanation.

On the bright side, mail volume is dropping the past week as many have already shipped their items. Let's all just hope things start clearing up and the backlogs get taken care of. thinking there will be a flood of deliveries in the next couple weeks.

Anyone mail a package via USPS that is very late and not updating on tracking?

I have items shipped over 2 weeks ago that are still at the "regional facility" scan.

Other items shipped the same day delivered in 2-5 days.

Others delivered, or about to be delivered after an extended nap.

One going to a freight forwarder missed the unrealistic EDD by over a week, and has been doing the Florida shuffle for several days.

All depends upon where they are going.  At this point some facilities are so jammed up that they can not even get the trucks unloaded, as there is no place to put the mail.

As I have no desire to give things away via the eBay MBG, I put our accounts on "time away"  At this point my buyers have been extremely patient, but with no scan after the "regional", I'm dead in the water. The extended seller protection that eBay has set in motion will not apply.

Great thing is that somehow eBay is telling me that even though I have not sold anything in 2 weeks, one of my accounts is up 81% compared to the last 31 days. Go figure.

Anyone mail a package via USPS that is very late and not updating on tracking?

I spoke to the Post Office today having taken a tracking number in to them for an item that I had to give a refund on. It was small and light weight and I didn't even try to send it FedEx - which in hindsight I should have.  The customer said she "has been a seller and a buyer for years and if the tracking isn't advancing it means the item is lost". Well, according to the Post Office our items leave here (Payson, AZ) and go to the hub in Phoenix - where they are unloaded, scanned and moved along - under normal circumstances. Right now (December 21st) there are trucks that are still sitting in Phoenix that have not been unloaded for the last two weeks!! due to increase in volume and a lack of personnel. So, everything I ship from now on will go FedEx.

Anyone mail a package via USPS that is very late and not updating on tracking?

I am having the same problem and I'm very worried.

some packages I dropped off at the post office a week ago can not be tracked --the USPS website only shows "shipping label created", no movements whatsoever.

If the packages are lost, I dont think I cant file insurance claims since there are no acceptance scans  --I live in  an overpopulated city, there are always long lines in front of the post offices, people wait forever for their turn to get in.  so we just leave the packages to a clerk  at the door without getting an acceptance scan or receipt.  😥
