Hello, I have been experiencing a lot of delays with USPS during the last few weeks, I had packages sitting in the post office for days with tracking showing (USPS in possession of item), but no updates or progress for 3 or 4 days. Also, many times my packages would take a ridiculously long and strange route. I have noticed that also, with many of the packages I have bought lately, one of them went from Texas to Alaska, then Washington, before reaching me in Ohio. This used to happen from time to time, but it has been way worse lately and it is happening with every package I ship. Is this normal? Anyone else experiencing the same issue?
Thank you.

I choose to chuckle at the routes my packages take. It is either that, or cry.
I watched an outbound package (from NE Ohio) go to Cleveland, Akron, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, and then finally somebody got it going on its way to the buyer. After touring the region where it started for several days!
There's really nothing you can do. Just make sure that it is in fact moving every day or two. Don't you just love all the "In transit to the next facility" messages, when it is likely just sitting in a truck in the parking lot waiting for a driver to get in and take it somewhere?

Yes I had a package going to PA from NJ end up in CA. I’ve noticed many packages are getting the scenic route.

I haven't had any visible wrong routes. Outside of a few that went to a neighboring PO.
Just delays by items stuck at distribution centers.
Jersey city distribution center holds my items pretty long.
