For years, I've had nothing but pretty great service from USPS. I have moved a dozen times and most locations were smaller-town, mostly knowledgable, with very consistent pickups, deliveries, etc.
I recently moved to a big city and over the last almost-two-months it's been an onslought of issues.
First, my present post office doesn't pickup when requesting a pickup. I live in a 2-story, 4 unit apartment with retail on the bottom and I directed them to where they could pick up and they didn't bother.
Then, the carriers leave packages outside the front door (instead of the back, as the window notice says - put there by my LL prior to me moving there) where they can easily be stolen. I had a package lost. I had 6 packages down at the post office, put three redelivery notices in and no one ever bothered to deliver them. Two were scanned as "delivered" and not delivered. I called after the third one and the supervisor/counter clerk was nice enough to send one specific guy out at 445PM to deliver all of the packages at once. Very strange.
Now, I'm getting 'postage due' packages sent back to me.
Also, outside of my post office, I had one package that has been sitting at a PO for a month of mine. I filed a "missing mail claim" on USPS.com and they told me they had "insufficient" information so I'm going to call tomorrow. According to tracking, it's just sitting there.
I had another international package to go Hungary, made it all the way then returned all the way back. I'm waiting for it back now because the buyer filed an INR. I think the buyer refused to pay the taxes and had it returned - i'll find out when I get it back what the sticker says.
My present post office also stuffs other peoples' mail into my box once in a while.
These are problems that I can't recall ever having so significantly in 12 years of doing online selling.

Welcome to the big city! (thank goodness I don't live anywhere near one lol)
You need to call your local Postmaster and complain. If you don't get results there, go up the ladder. USPS has a 1-800 number, and I've read here from different sellers that their postal problems were squared away when they called.

I also tried to edit more info into this but by the time I did, I "ran out of time" it disappeared. Ha.

I definitely will if I get another issue.
The PO helped me much more efficiently than I thought they would when I called to complain about the lack of redelivery. Saturday they delivered my packages properly. I'm wondering if the "postage due" stuff suddenly is them spiting me.
I'm considering exporting my sales to another post office and seeing if one of the nearby suburban ones is better at dispatching.

Some areas are just terrible. When I moved to my last home, the carrier would see us sitting in the yard, look right at us, and give us a pink slip so that I would have to drive 15 minutes to pick it up. That was just the beginning.
