Specifically looking for an alternative to Shipsurance as it seems their claim form has to be signed by the buyer from the address provided by eBay. As the form detects the IP location of the buyer. Obviously this is impossible and I'm certain Shipsurance knows this and is using it as a loophole to deny claims. Also I just recently had a claim with them and the buyer attempted to complete the form twice and although they were located in Portland the claim form would say Washington and Shipsurance continually denied it. Email correspondence was provided to them as well.

Sounds like insurance fraud.
No way an insurance company is covering third party freight forwarding.

The buyer using a freight forwarding address was a legitimate transaction. Ups lost the package in Utah on the way to the freight forwarding address. When I filed the claim with Shipsurance the buyer signed their form and they denied it saying the IP was not in the US. Then wanted correspondence from the buyer to say they were traveling or were not at that address for some reason. The buyer responded in email that it was shipped to a freight forwarder. Then Shipsurance came back and told me the freight forwarder needed to sign the form. The claim form however specifically says it must be signed by the buyer. I expressed that would be forgery to have someone else sign but they said that was they only way they would process the claim.

Insurance fraud is a steep accusation. A quick Google search brought up a number of insurance companies for freight forwarders. Was hoping for some insight from someone who has had some experience with other agencies than Shipsurance. Thanks

Curious @robbie31415 . Why are you listed as guide with 0 feedback and on here trolling giving uneducated answers in a matter of seconds with inaccurate information?

You are the one mentioning forging documents lol.
But okay.
And I never said there isn't insurance for freight forwarding services.
You can comprehend what I did say incorrectly, free country here.
Good job with the feedback burn. 👍

You still didn't answer my question why you are on these forums stirring up trouble when you've never even sold anything before?

Another thing you apparently don't understand. What a posting Id is. 🤔

When I need Insurance for an international shipment, I often use Pirate Ship. Their rates are much cheaper than Shipsurance. As for a claim, I have never made one so I cannot advise their procedures.
I had an eBay International Delivery item get lost that was under $100 so I made a claim with their PIP Insurance and they paid.
Domestic Shipments: $0.75 for up to $50, then $0.80 per $100
International Shipments: $1.35 per $100
Declared Value Limit: $5,000 per shipment
The limit for Declared Value is $400 for USPS First Class Package International and Simple Export Rate

@robbie31415 You need to learn to read things fully before responding and perhaps consider going back to school for a better education. You're accusations are way out of line. If you have no good information to provide you really should stop trolling and stay off of these forums.

@stephenmorgan Thank you for the input. I am using PirateShip as well. I do love their service and will likely continue shipping with them. However they do partner with Shipsurance and the last international claim was for $600. If it's less than $100 it is reimbursed through the carrier insurance which is a failry easy process. However over that amount would be through the third party insurer. Unfortunately if you use the third party insurer they take over the whole claim process so even the $100 carrier reimbursement is decided through them. I don't think that is fair for them to do that with the $100 and I believe Pirate Ship may actually have control over that part of the process.

I did read.
Your claims aren't being denied due to a loophole.
They are being denied because you are using the insurance improperly.
Maybe learn to insure ?

Why are people with no buying/selling history @robbie31415 being allowed to post on here? I thought this was a place for experienced buyers/sellers to discuss things. All month I've been dealing with scammers and false claims and came here for advice and just get the same kind of riff raff. Seems some people just like causing problems for anyone trying to do legitimate business
