2 Questions please!!

Hi all and Thanks in advance for your help.

Question 1.  I have elected to opt my listings out of the Free returns that Ebay suggest we do. Why i do this is just as I ran into the other day. Buyer orders an item. I pay free shipping to Them. He gets it and finds out that he has ordered the wrong item and wishes to send it back for refund. I have no problem with this at this point but then I get several messages over a period of time that I can expedite transaction buy just giving a refund and not getting item returned. It wasn't a lot of money but was in $30.00 dollar range that I had already paid for the expensive USPS shipping and I wanted the item back. So I didn't just jump in and issue the refund.

Buyer sends back the item and I inspect it and all is fine. I issue the credit and all is good. Buyer paid return shipping that is listed in my listings as Buyer pays return shipping.

Again all is well but then I get an email from ebay that the buyer opened a case on me for the refund of return shipping. All is still fine except that ebay issued shipping credit to buyer. I get an email from ebay that I won't be accountable for any defects do to them paying the buyer his return shipping.

I just don't quite understand this but hope I don't get dinged for it!! Enough said!!!!

Question 2.

I always print my buyer a packing slip and a couple months ago something changed and on the packing slip it no longer shows the purchase price. Is there a way for me 2 edit the packing slip to show the purchase price when I print the packing slip??

Thanks much In Advance for your help!!

Dennis

Well I cant answer on the packing slip but on the return, that was a remorse return, so the buyer paid return shipping. Doesnt matter that you have buyer pays return shipping on your listings, if it had been a snad return, you are liable for the return shipping fee. Because that buyer filed for his return fee, Ebay decided to give him a courtesy refund on the fee, you wont get a defect for that.

When you sell an item there is a drop down arrow by the print label choice. The drop down gives you many options. Choose print label/packing slip and it will give you some choices. I print the packing slip from there. I shrink it to 75% then turn the paper upside down and print another on the same piece. Cut in half one for you and one for them. It will show item name and price and shipping price. Andrew

Thanks Much!! I will give that a try on the packing slip.

It's nice that ebay does the courtesy refund but I sure don't understand why!!!

EBay does courtesy refunds to keep buyers happy and coming back to buy again.  Some buyers take advantage of that.
