This is my first time trying to get a shipping label through ebay and I keep getting this error after I hit purchase that reads "Something went wrong and we were not able to generate the label." Which is unhelpfully vague. I contacted ebay support directly but was told it might be a few days before they can figure out what the problem is and I don't want to run past the recommended shipping date if possible.
The item I'm trying to ship is a 27x40in movie poster in a 31x4x4in triangular tube box, the total package weighs 10.5oz. I had selected USPS First Class as the shipping option when creating the listing and that is what the buyer paid for but now on the shipping label purchase page I see there's some fine print under that option reading "Up to 16 ounces with maximum dimensions of 22 x 18 x 15 inches." (It does not say anything about this when creating the listing.) Of course the length of my package is greater than those dimensions so I'm wondering if that's what is causing the error, but I would think if so I shouldn't be given that shipping option, or it should at least be able to tell me that's what the problem is. I'm reluctant to try choosing another shipping option to test if that's the issue because I don't want to be charged extra unnecessarily.
I guess I'm just looking for a second opinion if anyone has experience with this kind of package? I want to know for sure what's going on because I might have to change the shipping options for my other active listings. (I attached a screenshot of the relevant info from the shipping page if that helps.)

The maximum allowable length for a First Class package if you purchase a label online is indeed 22 inches. See section 8.3.2.d:
https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/201.htm#ep1097318
But the maximum dimensions for retail postage is a length-plus-girth of 108 inches, so your package would be OK if you take it to the PO to mail, though of course the postage will cost more ( about a dollar). For convenience without savings, you might be able to purchase a label online (though at retail prices) through USPS Click N Ship.
