text in color

Maybe I missed a post about this, but I am not able to use the optional colors for my text here on the community boards.  Often useful to highlight parts of a post.

I can select a color, apply it, see it is there, but then when posted it is just black and white.

Same here. Have NOT been able to colorize posts in community threads the past several times I tried in the past month. Casually mentioned that problem in reply to a post a day or 2 ago in another thread about stuff not working. Have no idea whether or not anyone has flagged this to Ebay team or not. I consider it to be a bug, but probably another Ebay programming IMPROVEMENT by their software vendor! Every programming change they make this year  seems to be a step backward or to create unforeseen problems for us.

I had not noticed that, because I rarely post anything in color. It will really be a pain for posters who use text colors to differentiate between quoted material and responses.

Just noticed, too, that when I quoted your post in mine, the word "highlight" is bold and blue in my reply composing box, but in your original post, it is only bold.

And, ETA:  When I posted my comment, your word "highlight" is no longer blue--just bold.

(Sorry to tag all of you--not sure who works when.)

Is this part of the whole Khoros ongoing issue?

Yup, there when I type the text. Gone when it posts. There again for replies.

Color is very helpful when a posts contains 2-3-4 questions that are being answered. I often color match the question/my answer.

When @bigdeals.etc asked about this yesterday I told him:

"Font color hasn't been working for a few days. It all reverts to the default text color. I was too lazy to report it on the platform board."

Thanks for posting it here, Jack.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention @eleanor*rigby and everyone else. We'll have this looked into and see what we can find out.

Groovy, but it works better if one actually tags an eBay Community Team member . . . just posting it among ourselves isn't really all that effective.

Thank you for tagging ebay staff. I spent over 35 years in computer hardware service prior to retirement and the statistics are: For the past 50 years greater than 80% of all computer "failures" are directly related to software issues in the form of incorrect operator inputs, software upgrades, software enhancements, operating systems refinements  and/or adding applications to an existing system.  Less than 2% are from actual life cycle failures of electronic components and the remaining 15-17% are or have been caused by catastrophic influences from power, air conditioning systems or other physical influences. All-in- all the probability of a life cycle catastrophic electronic component  failure occurs once per 100 computing years usage. This is 1 per system per 100 years or one per 100 systems each year! Rarely is the incident that produces results such as we continue to report here have anything at all to do with computer hardware! Hardware even has redundancy built in and often will "self-repair" and keep running, only notifying the reponsible parties of that event and how many more times it will be possible. That has been a standard practice for computer  manufacturers since the mid-1980's.  That is why computing systems can exceed $ millions to buy and operate.

Yep.   Been this way for days.   Someone must be taking bets on how many annoying and senseless changes can be made before we all give up altogether on the boards.
