How do you get misuse of "helpful" to those monitoring such things.
A community "member" that joined in June has been going through 100's of threads clicking on helpful for all responses.
I realize that the helpful earns nothing that I care about. Yes, I can turn notifications off, but I sometimes use the notification to return to a thread to read a bit more of it.
The constant barrage from the ID doing this is annoying.
Not sure what the motivation is for doing it is, or why it continues.

You are fine. And I for one thank you for taking the time to acknowledge that you read, or agreed, or just wanted to note a post as being helpful. That is what the "helpful" notation is all about. Please don't stop.
I find that such notifications make me smile. Maybe knowing he is helping someone might be enough motivation for this person. No one has the right (IMO) to pop their bubble and tell them they are being abusive to everyone else. That should be an individual decision.
As for this mystery person, I too have gotten them. But I see nothing wrong, so I don't know what the fuss is over. Each poster has the opportunity to see who marked their post. If one does not want the mark or a mark from that person, they should just PM them not to do it any more to them and let well enough alone. And hope it stops. If not, THEN report it.
He/she is not hurting anyone in my opinion, and I for one welcome all the appreciation I can get. 🙂

Agree, that the poster your are responding to is fine. They are marking "helpfuls" in the way they are intended to be used. As in when they read a post, and find it helpful.
The offensive giver of "helpfuls" is just going through and hitting helpful on thousands of posts. It is without question (IMO) not being done in a way that it was designed to be done. For whatever reason, it stops for a bit, and then kicks back in with another slew of "helpfuls" .

I think they cracked the code! They got to Rockstar level by giving 5000 helpfuls! And that with only 21 helpfuls received, 10 posts and ZERO solutions!
Gee, why am I being helpful around here when I could just be a Rockstar by clicking helpfuls? LOL! jk
