I received 30 likes on a thread, per my profile, on a thread I communicated in, from 2013. I saw it this morning as new "Likes." Hmm.
This latest one about the 600$ item having been refunded to a buyer, started by somebody else, is also years old.
Odd. Is ebay some volcano, that occasionally spits out some lava? Or did they move the HQ office to Hawaii?

I accidentally signed in with a selling ID the other day, and discovered that it had many recent Likes in spite of not posting for years. Turns out, I have a post about online First Class postage that is chugging along, getting two Likes this month and two last month, despite being originally posted in 2013! It has over 150 Likes; I suspect that this gives it an advantage in search results. Fortunately, it was just general and didn't mention prices, unlike another ancient post which quoted old insertion fee policies but still got liked this month.

Strange. Thanks for letting me know, I am not the only one experiencing this!

I believe some people come to the boards and use "Search" for their topic. They post with a question or comment and bring an old thread to the top without realizing the thread is outdated.
It seems to me that any thread that hasn't had a post in 12 months could be deleted.

Good point
Delete a thread that hasn't had any action in the past 12 months, and in so doing? make the topic search more relevant, but if somebody wants to kick-start what is to some a boring albeit ongoing issue, yet crucially the option to do so is still live, and "you" don't like it? well, don't get involved, SIMPLES.

I have ran into this as well. I would suggest to report the post and ask the moderator to lock the post from future replys. This should be done automatically after a period of time as some people use the search feature and find something they are looking for but reply to a message not realizing this is from months if not years ago.

There were several posts this morning by a new member who was promoting his Australian shipping service. He resurrected posts from 2015 and 2017, suggesting they use his service. He must have dug those up through a search. He also responded to a post from yesterday, but it was about shipping from Europe to the US.
