went most of the weekend and got no 101's then today over and over. Looks like the glitch took the holiday weekend off.

I've checked the eBay status page whenever there has been one of these infamous "eBay glitches". It always says everything is super perfect wonderful awesome. Okay, not in those actual words. Was trying to be polite. Just wish there was a place that did say what they are working on and true status. Well, unless they just want to blame it on Pongo and that will the end of it.

While I did not (yet) get any 101 type notifications, I am getting tired by the pop-ups like "move this puzzle piece," or "update your information and select security words" and "read the Fall Seller Update", all of which are nonsense. If you got the Fall Seller Update on all your accounts, WHY is eBay software unable to recognize the fact that you have already read it??? As for the window to update your information and provide more data, that is just it. Give eBay MORE of your data, so they can collect it and use it as they like!!!!
And while at it, why not also share your Apple ID with them, including your log-in info for the same? Clicking in the box to un-check that you want to "stay logged in" will bring up the Apple Log-In. Way to go! Time to cheer.

The examples cited in the above post are functions of a browser or browser settings, not of eBay.
If a person uses a browser like DuckDuckGo or browser function like Chrome's "Incognito" feature, the browser hasn't any captured information--in the form of cookies--on any of those examples listed. eBay doesn't know whether a member has read the Fall Seller Update because the site has not been allowed to leave a cookie. The website has no idea who a user is or which pages have been visited, etc., again, because no cookies that would have that information have been allowed to be collected. Even signing in does not resolve the above issues, since the cookies are stored on the browser, not on the website.
There are upsides and downsides to using more or less "anonymous" browsers for internet use. This could be considered one of the downsides.
So it's not eBay, it's the browser or browser setting. If a user wants any website to remember the kinds of things listed, they should switch to a different browser or allow their browser to accept cookies. If a person wants the anonymity offered by a more private browser, s/he'll have to overlook the shortcomings. Users can't have it both ways, unfortunately.
Here are some basic explanations about cookies which may help:
What are Cookies and What Do Cookies Do?
"While some may simply choose to block all cookies, it can make Web surfing difficult if you do this. For example if you shop online, many e-commerce shopping carts that have been implemented with cookies will not work. Sites you frequently visit which enable you to personalize content also will not show your preferences when you visit if you delete or disable that cookie."
I hope this information helps explain why those examples are popping up. If I can provide any further clarification, please tag me in another post.
