This place locked post as I was replying

Because I do the right click/open new tab bit, the selling list of posts was still there to check.

That post wasn't locked when I started to read, wanted to reply to 3rd person, clicked the button and it came up as locked. MAYBE two minutes from opening and reply try.

I can understand closing old posts about long fixed problems and stuff outdated, but this was a 'funny stories' one. The fact that it is "two years old" doesn't mean people don't read and want to reply or add their story.  Never could understand why you left locked stuff to be seen. I still have a link to 'books that look like ...' and that's years old. Again, if this was about getting Mr Lister back that's one thing, this was just funny story and funny never gets old.

Maybe you should have a 'locked posts' page so reader know up front they can't respond.

Wanted to tell that person that no, not made anymore but the eggs sell on ebay.

It is because someone replied and once they replied it was immediately locked because it was 2 years old. NO ONE wants to post on something 2 years. Those old posts are meant for reading only.

That happened to me once when I didn't realise how old a thread was.  Chat boards are pretty much real time - two year old posts need to be archived. In this case I was glad I hadn't wasted my time posting to a long outdated thread.

I never notice or look at the date of the threads.  I've been dumb enough to answer and then have it locked.

Every once in a while, a moderator will lock a thread that someone is replying to.

As far as I know, the eBay message board does not have AI than can predict the future behavior of moderators and warn you in advance.
