I've been connecting from a slow wifi connection lately...I have an extra antenna on my laptop and that at least gets me a little bit of internet and I can load faster sites, but it really struggles loading community pages. Most of the time it just loads the tops of pages and then stops and I just have to refresh the page over and over until it works.
Is there a setting to make the community load pages simpler, like without the images or extra stuff (I think it is called loading them in simple html?).
Thanks! 🙂

Maybe @berserkerplanet can help, or knows someone who can . . .

Hi,
This is something that is to do with how the web forum was made.
If you look at inspect element you can see that lithium is making the website take longer to load. If you dont know what lithium is it the software behind the community.ebay.com
You can try disabling java script for faster load times but this may break certain features of the whole website on your end.
Also the website isnt too slow to be honest compared to other forums out there.
Hope this helps.

I had to turn off the Signatures, Tags and Helpfuls to make the boards load for me. With all that extra "fluff" they would just sit and spin on my slow pathetic DSL connection. I also use AdBlocker Plus.

Hi,
Be experimental!
Press F12 on the keyboard then see what is slowing down the website then download a adblocker so you can block certain unneeded things from slowing the website down, thus making it faster.

You have 70-80 tags. Could that be slowing it down?
TBH, I have no idea why I have all those or where some came from.
I just tried disabling tags and siggy's so, now everything is nice an bland. I'll try loading some pages and see how it goes.

Wow it's loading fast now. I have only one bar and most pages are loading in less than 7 seconds. 🙂
