Is there a way to force an OP to write in the post field?

I don’t know if it’s happening more often or I’m just noticing, but I see a lot of OPs who either cram their entire question in the topic field, or ask a vague question but leave the text box empty without any details.

I know it *can* be done but wouldn’t it be possible to force OPs to fill out the text box, by having an error message appear when the text field is empty for example?

When I try to reply to your original post without entering any characters in the reply box, I get the following error message:

If an OP doesn't enter any characters in the text box, I would think they could receive the same error message, thereby forcing them to enter some text in there.

This is a great question @nocoolnamejane . We'll look into this to see if it's possible.
