Hi All
I’m Rebecca and I‘m incredibly excited to be here on eBay working with everyone you already know - Brian, Brian, Tyler, Trinton, Griff and leading the whole community team!
I spent most of my career at Johnson & Johnson, leading the online community on a website which was all about supporting new & expectant parents. Now I’m thrilled to be taking what I know about supporting people as they grow young families, and instead help support all of you as you grow and sustain your businesses.
You may be asking why a new leader in the eBay community and why now? It's really symbolic of how eBay is putting the seller at the center of everything we do and think about each day. Yes really, though I know for some sellers it‘s been hard to see that in the past. A great example of that is how we’ve recently started using the Announcements blog area more, to keep you in-the-know, updated on technology, and hopefully inspire you. Check out the new topics of News, Technology and Seller Stories when you get a chance! (You may also be wondering did I shove the previous community leader Alan out the door...? And the answer is no! I actually shamelessly begged him to stay, but he got an amazing opportunity and knew he’d be leaving the community in great shape for the future.)
While my first few months are really to be in learning mode, my hope is that down the road a set of fresh eyes will help make the eBay community even more vibrant, easy to use, and helpful so you can support each other and learn. And of course we’ll continue to take your feedback and suggestions for how we can improve your time spent on the marketplace, or here in community.
The others on the team will continue to be the most visible here in the community, but you’ll see me pop up here and there and you can always message me to say hi, share a suggestion, or even let me know about something we could be doing better.
Finally, I have a confession! While I have bought a lot of stuff on eBay over the years, I posted my first item for sale – a small lot of at-home workout videos and instructions books - just this weekend, and you may just see me around with seriously newbie questions that you experts can help with! So while I may not be an expert seller like you all, my passion is building online community and I look forward to what we can all achieve here together.
Thanks and see you around the eBay Community!

...ooops, I've welcomed you on another thread, so didn't want all to think I was jumping right in like this...
I've disliked labels from the get-go.
They are meant to indicate a member's activity level on the forums, so if that is the intent, I would be happy with "level 1, "level 2", "level 3" because that would at least match the intent. The labels and badges were added because those are apparently how a reward system works in game theory. Only eBay staff would be able to look at the stats to see if the game theory worked here to "improve engagement".
The biggest detriment to "engagement" in the past had been the off-the-rails trolling, venom, and back-stabbing on the forums, and that problem has been drastically reduced by bringing staff and moderators back to the forums, so perhaps the game theory is not really needed and should be re-examined.
I have a, probably valid, suspicion that the majority of the most active and longest lasting members on the forums are "older" and are not in the gaming mentality anyway.

Welcome Rebecca!
Please take a look at eBay forcing sellers to use their managed payments. Not a very popular forced conversion. Most don't like the fact that the seller has to send item before receiving payment and how long it takes to get our money. You can see peoples opinion of it posted all over the board. We should have a choice to use Paypal or Managed Payments.
Look forward to an new set of eyes!

How does one get to speak to someone at EBAY these days. I have many issues as a Buyer and Seller, but can't figure out the maze.

Your link isn't helpful. It is just a maze of meaningless options. None provide any help solving any issues. EBAY just doesn't want to help us. They prefer us to Shut up and obey.
What the heck is this Managed Payment thing ? I think we are capable of managing our own payments. What happens if I don't want it ?

@laserpartshq The help pages can be tricky to navigate if you don't know the ebay keywords for your problem or the closest keywords.
If you could tell me what you need help with I may be able to help you OR give you a link to the correct help page. The help pages are responded to by different "depts". Some of the pages currently have email contact at the bottom and some have chat.
When life goes back to normal and the call centers open again then you will be able to call customer service, for now, this is what we have.
Or you can also contact customer service by sending a private message on social media. You leave a message and an eBay employee will get back to you as soon as possible. To speed things up you can leave your registered account information in the PRIVATE message: Full name, address, phone number, email address, user ID, and a brief explanation of your problem.
