I note there is a badge for length of time as a community member, however the community hasn't existed for the same length of time as E-bay. I have been an E-bay Member since May 1998, yet my community member badge recognizes only the 2 years of inclusion on the board. It seems it should also recognize the overall length of membership in E-bay. This will provide an accurate indication of a seller's overall level of E-bay knowledge and loyalty. Maybe consider including a second category on the same page to recognize overall E-bay membership years to be viewed alongside the number of community membership years, and include the number of years the community has been in existence. This would give a more realistic picture of a member's involvement level with E-bay. Thank you for considering this, @ toysnstuff4me

The badge(s) and date on your Community profile reflect when you registered with the eBay community, not with the eBay marketing platform.
The date you registered with the eBay marketing platform is displayed on your My eBay profile page and your feedback page. Most posters know where to find it--just by clicking on anyone's feedback-number link next to their member id. Just click on my (324), and you'll see I registered in November of 1998.
The quality or reliability of one's responses are judged on their own merit, not how long one has been registered with the marketing platform. I've seen some long-time members post some pretty unreliable comments and give some incredibly inaccurate advice.

Your number of feedback is readily visible and it's what members will mostly look at if they want to gauge your eBay experience. As noted in the other post, they can click on that to easily see how long you have been an eBay member. The rules have changed so much over the years, members from 2000 really don't have any advantage over members who joined just a few years ago. Nobody looks at the badges anyway, they are a joke.

So true. I botched one up pretty badly just a day or two ago on the new immediate-payment-for-offers policy regarding one of the blocks available. Fortunately, there were others there to correct me.
