Did you mean:

your connection to this site is not secure

In case you cared why this top rated seller is no longer using this site, Ebay, I would like to at least share with the community.

Seems google is just now telling us about it not being a secure place to do business, but it has gone on for some time.

If you block the cookies to make the site secure, your ebay wont work, and customer service has no clue as to why.

Even facebook is secure. Bye bye for now~

Sad really, eBay was blacklisted by Microsoft too, time to find a new CEO, this one is only interested in running ads.

Can you please clarify what Google is just now telling us?

I use Firefox with Adblock and have no issues with functionality.  I know that due to too many vulnerabilities, flash is no longer being used but adblock and flash apply to every site, not just eBay.  I'm asking because we need to know the whole story.  I can't act on a partial information drop.

This is Google attempt (for reasons unknown to be) to force every website operator to use SSL on every single page.

SSL makes sense on pages where sensitive information is transferred but for non-sensitive pages it's a bit ridiculous (this issue will affect millions of websites for users of Chrome).

My own website which consist only of static pages shows the same warning to Chrome users (FF & IE are ok). I'm just speaking about my personal website that has nothing to do with anything and contains only static pages, it is now or will be to anyone who updates to the newest versions of Chrome.

I don't really want to pay for an SSL certificate for this type of site. Pretty sure eBay will cough up what would be a modest amount for them

If you search online for - Google Chrome Security Warning - you can read all about this saga that is driving people crazy.

These 'trust issues' between Google and eBay go way back to 2006 when eBay said that Google checkout was bug filled and could not be trusted, then Google shot back at eBay in 2014 claiming eBay could not be trusted.

lol  Facebook is secure, you bet.

And selling your car on craigs list is secure.

lol  snort sorry, back on track.

This topic has come up in the past.

I am using win 8.1 and google chrome browser.

I seldom see the padlock icon in a web address.

( other than my bank )

Heck if you watch the news even the DNC is not secure.

Blame it all on Vlad Putin.

For the most part ebay is secure...

It is just that some pages, and some programs don't show it.

I certainly wouldn't put any weight on what the G says.  They have their own aGenda and it isn't about protecting users.

But we do enter sensitive information on the ebay site. I don't always use paypal, sometimes I enter my credit card information. So this definitely concerns me. Why can't ebay just get ride of shockwave as everyone knows there has always been security vulnerabilities with it.
