I have over 200 items listed, but rarely do they get looked at.. with the outreach of Ebay, they should at least be getting views. Cannot afford to do a store yet, and at this rate, never will. I offer some free shipping. I keep relisting and adding new listings. Ebay will only let me cancel an "order" when someone doesn't pay and out of the little I've sold, I have had a couple of those lately. I tried to ask a representative when I called on another issue, and the guy just said I have to do my own promoting. I have added my seller ID to my shop advertising. But Ebay is supposed to be advertising.. all I ever hear in this part of Iowa is about Ebay motors which sounds like Ebay owns everything in it... I have a wide variety of items, and I check if things are selling before I list anything... what do you think??

I have moved approx 20 items over to fixed price, as I am figuring how to do it without having to start over on them.. and I do already see more views.. I will work more over as I get time and they go off regular listings. I won't wait for them all, but just as my time allows.. Thanks for the input.. I am checking a couple other sites, just not sure how many places I want my personal type info on...

Cleaning up my site takes time and everyone seems to think it just magically happens.. I have to figure out a few things, just got a new cell phone, so photos should improve. https://www.facebook.com/groups/104572039591575/ Also running this and have plenty to sell, just need to pick and choose what will work for me to ship reasonably and get an effective price also. I put over 600 items on an online auction that supposedly had lots of bidders, and when he ran our auction, only had 125 so took a real beating on that fiasco. We did fine with antique shows, but CoVid made a mess out of that.. A lot of what I have listed, I will just pull and not redo pictures, not worth the time.. so letting them ride until I get motivated.. going through some dental issues that isn't helping my mental perspective... life keeps happening. thanks for the input

@van4653 Just re-do a few listings a day - no one expects you to do everything at once, that would be impossible. But doing a few a day will chip steadily away at it. Agree with just re-doing the listings that you think are worth it.

Also, I suggest not just relisting items, but making fresh listings when you revamp your listings - it will give them a 'new' status in the search and you'll get more eyes on them.

Not one person on this discussion suggested your listings should be fixed instantly or overnight.

You can use "sell similar" then change the format from auction to fixed price and change the details (title, photos, etc) before listing. As said above, a "fresh" listing will perform better with search, but do what works best for the workload you can handle.

( pasted an opinion from another thread) I would have to agree if you don't have an active account or as I say a healthy account then ebay says screw you and pretty much gives you no other option. They're hoping that with the increased fees should someone accidentally happen upon your item(it's almost always going to be irrelevant when promoted)then they might be able to pimp you out a bit. What they basically want you to do is list at least 50 desirable items a day, every day for a month. Rinse repeat. Then you will have an overlay of new listings daily. If you don't have really good items or 3000 or more you won't get too many organic sales. (This is part of a post I was reading earlier.. about promoted listings ) Sort of how I think things are going .. sellers are like the worker ants, and Ebay is riding on their shoulders, hosting things on everyone's listings and collecting fees for that even tho it is a listing they didn't do... I am gradually changing over to straight price listing..

You should carefully pick & choose the posters you are going to listen to LOL. The posters in this thread are all very knowledgable & giving you real answers. Some posters are not a reliable source of information. Some posters just like to post doom & gloom on a weekly basis to hear themselves complain. Be careful who listen to. That answer you copied here has to do with Promoted Listings & is patently untrue.

BTW, I told you about Promoted Listings way back on one of the first few pages of your thread. So, it should not be a surprise to you. IIRC, I mentioned it in 2 separate posts.

That’s more of a how hard to work, how much of a juggle to create for yourself question. I’ve never heard a single story of sellers getting info hacked on any selling site. It is 2022, after all.
