why are my listings automatically selling for a month instead of a week?

I do not see a place to click on to start my listings for just a week. It auto goes to monthly.

Buy It Now listings are always Good Til Cancelled and will renew every month. Only Auction format listings can run for a week.

I believe because fixed price/buy it now listings run for a month. That's normal.

And will auto relist unless the seller closes the listing.  Fixed price listings are GTC [good till cancelled].

We now only have two types of listings on Ebay.  Auctions and GTC.

thank you all for the responses. I was a seller a few years ago and things have changed. NOW I know!!
