Between the fee's and lack of sales or views for that matter I am losing confidence at an alarming rate in eBay.
Even worse if possible is the USPS. I have TWO items I have purchased get lost in shipping--not delayed but lost in the last 7 days.
As a seller I have no confidence in anything I sell getting to the buyer. I understand the delays in transit time but not packages that don't even make it out of their zip code.

Ones that don't require you make them a co-signer on your bank account.

I apparently do not encounter the items you sell in my searches. 10 CALENDAR days is way too long for me to wait on delivery of any purchased item. If I encounter shipping/delivery estimates of over a calendar week, I just keep looking and buy elsewhere.
Nothing on the ebay platform has ever qualified for my definition of "quick" or "fast" shipping/delivery. I grew up in and retired from a world of computer hardware service in IT and lots of times even the next flight out was too slow a response for a down system part shipment. Rarely was next day delivery ever contractually acceptable. Nearly every contract had substantial financial penalties for any outage exceeding 24 hours, usually at least a day's maintenance charges were credited to the customer for each hour exceeding 24 hours accumulated "down time". I spent 36 years both as a repair person and as a field service manager over multiple states for a national service company.

"Its always good to keep positive thoughts ,, you're right . However worry can sneak in at any time and ruin our attempts no matter how hard we try ,, we're only human . I just found out my sister has the Covid virus . She was moved to a covid unit and I can't reach her . I'm in CA . and she's in Oklahoma . "
I am so sorry to hear/read that. I will add you and your sister to my nightly Blessings. I have been very lucky and have been unaffected (so far) by the virus, except for the usual no gigs, shut downs, go to town only to pickup groceries. Hubs goes, I have been house bound for 291 days today. We try very hard to stay positive, we play music every day...but like you said, it's hard.
Stay safe everyone.

eBay seems to have alot of confidence in eBay. Bless their heart.

Thank you ,, it's been really hard on her family here in Ca. with my sister so far away . Were very worried she won't pull through .She's never been a real healthy person [ smoker for years] plus she's in her early 70's now . Even if we were to travel to Oklahoma I was told by staff personal over the phone we wouldn't be allowed to see her except through a glass window . Sigh 😞

Too many sellers are panicking and assuming the worst. They will get there but it is going to be a while. I hope eBay takes that into account before it starts issues refunds. slati 2013
Not just the refunds but also e bay giving sellers bad marks for late deliveries too .. I wonder if anyone has any info about that ?

Why not call and tell them you are Nancy Pelosi? You'll get right in, closed or not.

I love how they still sabotage sellers on estimated delivery dates. On my end I had an order that said to ship by January 4th and the estimated delivery date was the 5th or 6th.

do you have to use the new payment system or can it stay with paypal or maybe its time to go with some other seller platform one that does care about the seller and I agree I'm not going to send a item out and not have the money in my hands so to speak and let EBAY have it until they get item. I have read some others threads and that's right EBAY is not what it used to be.

That is why I shut it down around the 18th, though UPS was still delivering on time. I was not sending out any USPS. I thought that UPS might start having some issues.
I realize not every seller can just shutdown. This semi-retired folk just does not like to deal with stress.

Confidence has nothing to do with it. Either you adapt or pivot on to something else. Since the GTC policy started my companies have spent $106,000.00 not here at ebay. Personally I have bought maybe two tools on ebay in the past two years instead of the ten that I bought elsewhere. The tools cost between $200 and $1,000 each. If the GTC policy remains for the next twenty years then it is a very bad business decision on the part of ebay to continue the GTC policy with automatic renewal.
Before I started selling on ebay in 2010 I had never even looked at the site once it went online in 1995. I had seen the beta version as it was developed in the early 1990's but that's another story. So I remember around 2008 or 2009 hearing an uproar over ebay this and ebay that. Sellers were very upset that a loophole in avoiding fees was closed by including shipping in the total that was subject to fees. Seller were selling high priced items for one tenth the value and charging hundreds of dollars in shipping because they would avoid higher final value fees by lying about the price of their products. People always want their cake and three extra slices for free.

"If you choose to sell online then you must be aware that there may be shipping problems, uninformed buyers, lousy fly-by-night scammers. "
I agree. Packages are misdirected often. Sometimes they get stolen or slip under a table at a sorting facility for a few days or worse.
This can happen to ANY on-line shipper or brick & mortar store using the U.S.P.S.

USPS has been abysmal. I have a package that showed up again 33 days later, and now is bouncing all over the place. Unbelievable.
