what to do without turbo lister

I know this has been talked about a lot, but I need a little help. I love my turbo lister and am in a little panic that it will no longer be available.

I was wondering if anyone has used the seller hub to sell? If so, do you like it? I thought I might try it with an item to see how it goes, but when I went to try it, it kept saying I needed a UPC number. How can I have a numbeer on a used item?

Thanks for any help!

For used items without a UPC number just type in does not apply.

Turbo Lister is certainly going to retired.  That has already been announced.  They also said they would be having a new replacement for TL and it should be connected to the new seller hub.  It is suppose to be as dynamic and TL and hopefully easier and more advanced as well.

Yes there will be a learning curve as with all new things.  Your time invested in learning the seller hub selling template right now will help you out when the new selling app gets released which was announced last fall that it should be ready by summer.

Under the UPC just select does not apply or leave it blank. There is some new replacement for turbo lister called file manager or something idk. I don't see how anyone used turbo lister in the first place. 2 minutes and I was pulling my hair out.

I listed one item using the listing part of Seller Hub and I'd rather give birth to another baby than have to endure using SH to list. It was painfully slow and clunky.

They are promising to have a replacement that will meet all the things people are asking for but I don't see how they can accomplish that by June.

Wonder Lister if you are a smaller OOAK seller or Sixbit if you are a larger seller.  Very economical.

Although you are not the first person I have read say this I also have seen an equal amount users say how easy it was and quicker as well.

Everything in business changes and you need to be patient enough the change with it or do something else.

If you are concerned about the release of the new listing tool then please spend a few minutes asking about it in the weekly chat.  Demand an update to the announcement and demand they keep seller informed.  This si going to be a very important part of eBay moving forward.

If I had to guess and this is only a guess  -   I would say they are going to delay the retirement of TL just like they did the required UPC aspect because they are basically tied together.

Okay, thanks so much! I didn't realize I could do that. It does seem easy. Just trying to test it out now to get used to it.

I will be checking those out.

Has to be offline capable.

Economical to me would be free as Turbo, but dream on. That won't happen so will be looking for a GOOD replacement.

Listing through Seller Hub (which stinks and I will not use until forced) simply is not an option. Though all of the "improvements" in using eBay sell your item in the last 14 years, I would have quit selling. Doggy. Cumbersome. Slow. And none of the improvements new to selling through Seller Hub did anything about that.

That said, there didn't used to be a MyeBay page. And so on and on. Changes come. And we deal with it. Haven't been completely stymied yet.

Thank you! I know there will be no more turbo lister starting June I believe, that is why I wanted to get acclimated to this new way a little now. Excellent advice!

It does concern me that there hasn't been any updates to the Turbo Lister program in quite awhile. They added the Mobile thing to the listing process so you could quickly fix your listing to comply but are not adding it to Turbo Lister because it is being retired. How many more things will come along that don't get added until the program (TL) just becomes so far behind that it is no longer viable?

Also if they are still considering hosting all these listings "in the cloud" then I do have concerns over that. If one simple typo by a tech was able to take down the Amazon cloud hosting that impacted a whole bunch of websites (my local news TV station website was reduced to a single page) do we want to have to deal with that? Yes, stuff hosted on my computer could also crash but that will only impact me ... the cloud crashing could impact a whole bunch of stuff.

I guess time will tell.

And, not that they cannot technically share now, but once your listings are in teh cloud, they are ebay's property to do with as they see fit.  They are not able to be worked on offline, or stored locally in their entirety.

in the webinar......they specifically said there would be the ability to work off line and to store listings......and TL would be supported until those things happened, even if it took longer than Jun 1.......or whatever the date that was given.  I believe they said more info would come in April...........

Yup, I heard that.  But they think that an excel exchange file is the same as storing a listing locally.  No photos, just a link, no actual fields, just a sort of pdf copy of the listing. They think that that is the same thing.  We know that it is not.

I agree.  I gathered from the recent webinar that TL may be around quite a bit longer than anticipated. My hunch is that they didn't realize that the archive capabilities of TL are one of the primary reasons folks use the tool.

I don't recall ever seeing a date or even a date range for TL demise. It just said it would be June 2017. When I've tried to get a date nailed down they had none to offer.

I'm afraid they are going to just tell us all that we need to use File Exchange if we need offline backup. I don't have Microsoft Office, I don't have Excel. I have Open Office so I don't know how well that would work. I've tried to open other spreadsheets that were created in Excel in Open Office and they were there but were not totally the same. I hate spreadsheets and don't like working with them so I never tried to figure out what they were missing that Excel offered but Open Office could not handle.
