Sure sounds like a scam..........be sure to check on Ebay to be sure any payment is received and you have Ebay's instructions to ship.....

I would NOT call........they would probably try to scam you for account numbers, etc.....  Just wait out the 4 days to see if they pay........and don't believe an email.......check on ebay Seller Hub before mailing.

That is a scam. Have they paid? I bet they have not- and they won't. They target new accounts selling to try and scam them to steal the account or pull another scam.

Reply that all communication needs to be via eBays message system. After 4 days when they don't pay cancel the sale for non-payment and block that person from buying from you.

Scammers target new sellers hoping to fool them.

You were smart to question it. Was the accepted offer from the same ID as the one who sent the message?

After 4 full days pass, go to the order and cancel for non-payment. They will get a strike.

scam! This will be nothing but a headache for you which you will probably lose the product and $$$.

If you know this is the buyer who is contacting you, I suggest the following:

1. block them

2. cancel order (probably best reason is 'issue with buyers address' but review your choices.

3. sounds like you already contacted eBay, but I would use the option of report buyer and note the reason such as buyer wants me to call them.

good luck

@Anonymous

Do not respond to the message.

As suggested, and as you state, just wait the 4 full days then cancel as "buyer did not pay" when the option to do that comes up.

Add the ID to your Blocked Bidder List.............   now.

Was it for the bag? BIG Red Flag!  That's a scam attempt.  Tell them you can only ship to the address that is on the invoice that Ebay provides.  Don't divulge your bank or paypal account, they don't need it.  Do not add any extras for them like gift cards or send it to a relative.  If they can't do it, cancel the sale on day 5 for non payment and don't forget to block them.

Good catch!

Don't cancel at this time. The scammer may not even have been the one who made the offer. Scammers watch for sales and contact sellers hoping it won't be noticed that they aren't even the buyer. If that's the case, the real buyer may pay within the 4-day time allowed.

Add the ID who wanted the phone number to your BBL.
