Did you mean:

what is a "private" buyer?

I have an item with several bids. After one of the user names, it says "private."  What does that mean?  Thanks in advance.

Re: what is a "private" buyer?

It means the user's feedback received and left is not visible to other users.

They choose to have their profile private.

Everyone has options. Just be sure the best option is right for you.

Re: what is a "private" buyer?

It means that their feedback is set to private and you cannot see their feedback left for others or their bid retraction record.

I personally block any bidders that have their feedback set to Private.  I deem them to be trying to hide something that they don't want me to see and therefore, untrustworthy.  I would cancel that bidder's bid and put them on my BBL.  Of course, that is merely my opinion.  However, if sellers cannot sell with their feedback set that way, why should a buyer be able to buy with it set like that?

Re: what is a "private" buyer?

Some buyers out there choose to keep their ID off limits. They also want to keep their purchases private.
