Sometimes I can find a good wholesale buy on ebay to resell. This is the second time I am still wating for something to even ship that I bought 8 days ago. Heres what they do. They buy from China with 10 or more available. When they run out and are waiting for next shipment.. they don't answer you you hear nothing. I am getting tired of this. I made sure they were in the US before buying. Buy it now means pay for it now. I have wrote several times with no answer. I m getting tired of trying to figure out who has their items and who doesnt. This should not be allowed on buy it now. I could have bought from someone else.

What was the expected delivery date? If supposedly in US, should have been relatively quick....

As a seller yourself, you should know that eBay allows a seller to set his "handling time" - the number of days he agrees to ship an item in. You have not told us what your seller's stated handling time was, which is the one variable that matters here.
But that aside ..
While the eBay shipping metric was put place to measure whether sellers are shipping their items on time, as a seller yourself you should know that this metric gives the seller a buffer to account for occasional issues with stock level, carrier delays, and late scans. It allows a certain threshold of late shipments because eBay recognizes that occasional problems may happen.
So while that metric measures a seller's overall performance, it simply does not punish a seller for any specific transaction.
What solution would you propose that would balance these two situations? Or do you simply think that sellers should be suspended for a single late shipment?

Good idea is to check seller's handling time

That's if it's even shown on the listing
If doesn't show the handling time then hopefully it shows the estimated delivery date.
All of my last 10 purchases do.

Delivery date was suppose to be May 5th. I received it May 11th.

I am a seller also. I think the solution would have been to anwer my message of when it would arrive. I was never answered after 4 times of trying. Ebay gave me their number but they never answered. I left a message. Talking to a buy would have been the solution.

They were not from China I checked. They were from Illionois.

You have a way of warning others - feedback and DSRs. You'll also be asked if the item arrived in time - your answer NO
