Does any one know the max number of variations that can be included in one listing? I'm guessing 12, as that is the basic picture number but I could certainly be wrong. Thanks!

You can have up to 250 with 12 pictures each.
Myself, I would not want to have more than about 50 or so. To many variations become difficult to look at if you have too many pictures for each variation.
How many were you thinking about for one listing?

I am not completely sure, but I have a listing with 31 variations.
Once when I was creating a variations listing, I got an error that my lowest price item was less than 25% of my highest price item so eBay recommended that I create a separate listing. I just adjusted the prices and it was accepted.

I have several variations listings. Look at some of mine and you can get a idea how they work. I did not know about the 25% price variance but it make sense since items are supposed to be related and similar.

More than 12 can be add. There are so many variation listings over 12 number of items, available in the eBay.
