top rated seller badge question and international returns question

Hello, I just received top rated seller status and was hoping to get my top rated seller badge.  I changed my shipping handling time to 1 day and turned on 30 day returns, however when I looked at my listings there wasn't any top rated seller badge next to them.  I was just wondering if I missed something or if I just need to wait.  One thing that I did wonder about was if I also need to turn on the 30 day refund on international shipping.  When I was doing the bulk listings edit to change my return policy there was a section to change the international returns as well.  That confused me because I thought ebay took care of all the international returns and refunds.  I chose not to check the boxes for those returns, but now I'm wondering if that is what's keeping me from getting the top rated seller badge. As has been stated, in order to get the TRSplus badge and the discount, the seller has to have same day or 1 day shipping plus 30 day free returns.  However, there are some exceptions in certain categories.  If I am reading this correctly, in the trading card category which you are both listing in, you do not need to have returns enabled to receive the discount.  If you don't have free returns, the badge won't be seen on your items but you will receive the discount.

I don't see free returns on your listings until I click on the free returns option on the left hand side of the search page. Then it brings me to one listing so buyers could find it that way if they were looking for it.  I can then see the trsplus designation. But I don't think think that you will be able to see it on the search page because your returns are just for 14 days, not 30.    As I said earlier though, you will still receive the discount even without the 30 day returns, but not the discount.

Your TRS badge shows on your Feedback Page.

 

If you want to qualify for the 10% FVF discount and have a badge on your listings, the following is required.

1.  Achieve TRS

2. Have 1 day shipping

3.  Offer 30 days or more return policy with free shipping.  AKA 30 day returns w/ Seller pays shipping.

 

You can have some of your listing qualify and others not.  It is all up to you.

Hey @1wish2fish-43 . You're offering 30 day buyer-pays returns.

 

You are Top Rated (TRS), but in order to qualify listings for TRS+ status you need to offer 30 day free (seller-pays) returns. The badge only applies to TRS+ listings - does not apply to TRS sellers in general.

 

The TRS status on your account is exclusive to the US region. You would need to meet the same sales level globally if you wanted TRS status in the global region which means no, you do not have to offer international returns.

Thank you for the helpful response! It appears that I have done all the criteria for getting a top rated seller plus badge.  However I don't see the badge on any of my listings yet.  I put in a 30 day return policy and 1 day handling. It appears I don't need to offer returns on international orders to qualify.  Is there anything I'm missing or should I just wait and hope?

For a listing to have the TRS+ badge you have to offer free returns, not just 30 day with buyer paying the return shipping.   You have to pay the return shipping---free returns.

how long have you been waiting for your top rated seller badge to appear? I just got my top rated seller status yesterday so maybe I need to just wait a bit???

Thank you for addressing the international shipping question.  The only problem is I don't have any other ideas on why I don't have the top rated seller badge.  I feel kind of paralyzed with my listings.  I took a big step updating the listings to 1 day handling and 30 day returns even though its going to be very difficult for me living in a rural area.  I was hoping to get a payback with sales and a 10% discount for doing so.  I really don't want to offer that short of handling time if I'm not going to get the badge.  Do you think I just need to wait or am I missing something else?

"30 day returns" isn't good enough.  Your listings show that the buyer pays for the returns.  To get the TR-Plus badge on your listings, you have to offer "seller pays" for returns.

Thank you, I believe that might be the problem. I went back to the bulk listings edit and changed all the listings to seller pays return shipping. Any idea how long it will take to update those listings?  I checked my listings a 10 minutes after and they were still showing that the buyer had to pay return shipping.

Thank you so much.  I went ahead and changed that, now I'm just waiting for it to update on my listings. It's been 10 minutes. Any ideas how long it will take?

Theoretically it can take 24 hours for updates to take place, but I usually find changes like that should be active within minutes or less.  Check back in an hour and make sure they've changed, I'd say, since it was in bulk and that might slow it down a bit.

I didn't review all your listings, but on the ones I did you have your return policy as 30 days w/ buyer pays shipping.  So until you fix that, they won't qualify.

As of this moment they are not changed.  So you may not have processed the edits correctly.  You might want to try again.
