short story of a guy who drove me nuts...

So first he buys (response to one of my send an offer), but doesn't pay.

2 Days later he complains I'm not answering his messages, and he doesn't want the item in the picture.

I tell him I didn't get any messages, and my items are unique, so you will get what's in the picture. (I actually said "why did you buy it if you didn't want that one?")

He says he wants 2 of that item (because it's the type of thing many other sellers list in quantity), and if he can't have two, he'd like to cancel.

I cancel and relist.

Then he tells me he's changed his mind, and will buy the one I have and get his second one elsewhere.

He realizes I've cancelled, and asks if I can send the offer to him again for the note.

I tell him he needs to send a message from the listing to activate that.

While I'm asleep in the wee hours of the morning, I get several messages... please sell me this one at this price (and he quotes in Canadian dollars even though I have a US currency store), then another message on another listing.

Since I'm sleeping and don't answer, he goes ahead and buys both, but says he wants to make a deal.

I tell him no deal after you hit purchase. Since I offered him a deal initially and now he's paid full price, I send the invoice with free shipping. It's the best I can do, and I'm not going to go through tons of trouble for impatient people.

While I'm doing something else this morning, more messages. The last one said to cancel. I was sitting at the hair salon with solution in my hair, and I just thought "oh well, I'll do this when I get home".

Half an hour later he pays and sends me a message to say he's paid.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get most people would have blocked that pretty quickly but I do use my blocks sparingly. At worst I have to deal with a bunch of conflicting messages, but since he's paid, I'm going to ship.

Hope that everything will go well from this point in time.

Unfortunately you are not really in the clear dealing with possible issues from this buyer for about 180 PayPal days.

You do have really great patience to not have blocked this buyer.

Good luck selling in the coming holiday season.

Sit back and wait for the trouble to start, Multi messages, cancel / don't cancel, I want one / now two, the Berlin wall wouldn't have stopped me adding this one to my special list, hope it works out for you but i see nothing but problems with this.

I didn't block him because he was new to eBay and I wanted to give him some leeway to learn how the system works. (FB less than 10)

I had no contact with him since I replied to tell him when I'd be shipping.

I do know I'm not in the clear, but any issues would be over a $5 item. I try not to let little things like that stress me out.

My days are spent stressing over an expensive package going to Russia... I considered this to be pretty minor... but it did give me something to talk about today.

But you've said it's a short story of a guy who drove you nuts?

I mean, was it all worth it for 5 bucks?  And it isn't over yet..

Wouldn't have been worth it to me, the guy would have been blocked pronto.

Unfortunately  I think you've got a '' problem child '' on your hands  and one who has a great deal of trouble making up his mind . Of course my crystal ball has to be in the repair  shop right now  but I still sense  more trouble ahead .  Good luck with this character . Tulips  😞

If you want to mess with me with vacillating indecisive wishy-washy purchasing habits and messages, you had better make it worth my while and be purchasing something $500 and up. For $5 I'd rather throw it in the commode than deal with all that.

With all due respect (and I mean that seriously), has anybody ever suggested that you might, possibly, be a glutton for punishment?

As a side note, and of which I'm fairly sure you are aware, simply because the person has a low feedback score - on that ID - doesn't necessarily mean that they are new to ebay.

Good luck and I hope they find someone else to pester.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

Respect, like money, is only of 'worth' when it is earned - with all due respect, it can not be ordained, legislated or coerced. Anonymous
