Does this feedback qualify for removal?

We got our first neg feedback in a long time yesterday, specifically:

"I paid much less for a better model than this I would not buy from this seller."

I know that feedback really doesnt matter much any more. What irks me, aside from the fact this came from a new, very low FB buyer, is that it is specifically about the price. I took best offer on this item (I think $10) just to move a slow item, and with the free shipping ($5+) and fees, I am sure we lost money.

Since the feedback seems to be specifically about the price, would it possibly qualify for removal if I make the call?

Thanks!

Varebelrose

Don't think it would qualify.  Buyer's opinion. Seems to be nothing that would violate rules. (other than being a stupid buyer, but that is  allowed)

You can post a calm factual reply. Take some time. Do not be negative in the reply.

Add buyer to BBL if you have not already done so.

EDIT: I now see that you did reply.  If you are considering requesting feedback removal you should try before responding. Sometimes only the comments get removed, and the red Holiday ornament remains when feedback is removed when a reply has been made.

Good point about attempting before replying. I think I did make a decent and positive reply, but at that point I hadnt even considered trying to get it removed. If we have to wear it, hopefully at least the reply will make folks realize its an outlier feedback.

I don't think it qualifies for removal. Click on this link to read fbk info>

If you still want to try, click on 'Have us call you' at the bottom of the page so you aren't on hold forever.

Good Luck!

Whether or not it meets the written qualifications for removal seems to have nothing to do with whether or not an ebay rep will remove it.

Wouldn't hurt to call.

Coming from a very frequent Buyer here, I'm sorry this happened to you.

I looked at your listings and you have very nice things and your items are priced well.  I also looked at the item the Buyer purchased and thought it was fairly priced.

This is a case where Negative Feedback removal is acceptable and I would contact eBay ... but that said I don't agree with Negative Feedback being removed for the wrong reasons.  This happened to me (with a very bad high volume Seller) and eBay didn't handle it properly.  It was one of the reasons I stopped buying here.

I think most Buyers do look at Feedback and use it as a guide, and it's very important to help keep eBay a Safe and Enjoyable place to Buy & Sell.

I wish you good luck!

I don't think it qualifies for removal but does reflect badly on the buyer.  I would wear it proudly and put him on my BBL.

I do love it when buyers admit that they didn't do their homework before buying as they do when complaining about buying one cheaper.

There was another post this morning about a seller receiving their first negative. I think to myself and wonder; "What is going in the minds of some people?" Do make  a call to eBay or send a feedback revision request. The buyer also has the option of returning the item on their dime. Good luck to you.

Pretty much what I was going to reply. That comment only makes the buyer look bad, not a reflection to you as a seller. They aren't saying you sent them a broken item, or that you wouldn't respond, or even that you are a rude person- they are literally saying they didn't bother to do more of a search and overpaid in their eyes so they are regretful. Nothing at all to do with you as a seller.

BTW your response was PERFECT. That is what a response should be from the seller, if you honestly feel a response is needed.

On the surface, the FB doesn't meet any of the requirements to have it removed.  But something important to look at is the FB this buyer leaves for others.  If you see that they have done this before, it could be considered abuse and removed for that reason.

Even if you don't see evidence of it in the FB they leave for others, I would call Ebay and tell them you feel it is an abuse of the FB system and would like Ebay to determine if this is an abusive buyer.  If their FB left for others supports this or Ebay has other records to show this buyer is abusive, they will remove it.

Many thanks to all for the kind words and support! I will try to call Monday in hopes of getting a US rep, but even if they leave it, I guess it speaks for itself. Have a great afternoon!

Like everyone says, go ahead and try to get it removed. You've got nothing to lose.  Good luck!

That being said, that feedback (and your reply) really does make the buyer look bad, not you.  I would buy from you in a heartbeat without hesitation.

Sellers are always complaining how ebay doesn't support them. Giving us more space (characters) to respond to negative feedback would be nice start. Also it's been mentioned before on these boards that requiring a buyer to at least make contact with the seller before they can leave negative feedback would also be nice.

Good follow up. Usually we see really scathing and ranting nasty comments, but yours was measured and respectful. I wouldn't think twice about buying from you.
