really?? why does it say then that current period is dec24? should be jan25 since the evaluation was on jan 20th

Because the evaluation that happened on Jan 20, 2025 covered the period ending Dec 31, 2024. An evaluation happens 20 days AFTER the end of the period being evaluated.

You seem to be confusing the date the evaluation happens with the period that the evaluation covers.

It's analogous to the income tax deadline in the USA. The deadline for taxes is Apr 15, 2025, but the tax return you file by Apr 15, 2025 is for the tax year from Jan 1, 2024 to Dec 31, 2024.

The above is what you should be seeing AFTER the January 20th eval.

How we benchmark seller performance

On the 20th of each month, we take a look at your recent transactions to work out your service metrics and peer benchmark.

To make sure we're getting a fair picture, we'll adjust how far we look back (the "evaluation period") depending on how much you've sold recently:

  • If you had more than 400 transactions in the past 3 months, we'll count all those transactions
  • If you had fewer than 400 transactions in the past 3 months, we'll count all your transactions from the last 12 months

To help understand how evaluations work, please see our calculation examples below.

It has never worked that way.  No one is trying to insult you.  You simply have a misunderstanding.  It happens, even to us that have been here a long time.

My current seller level states as of Jan 20th, 2025 and my next evaluation is Feb 20, 2025.

The OP is talking about the Service Metrics.  See post #18.  That might help.

You are absolutely correct about the Seller Dashboard.  We get three different dates on the Dashboard so we can see what happened in the Past, then Presently and finally an estimate on the Future.
