first you run me through the ringer for 3 weeks as a seller trying to get my phone number verified (finnally gave up and stopped selling on ebay because you have NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT! ) now i turn around and start getting emails that i am being sent to collections because my 27.95 a month is not being paid. (i have been on auto pay for over 14 years and it has always been automaticlly deducted from my account.) ebay has both my bank account and my credit card info....so why out of the blue is ebay somehow "UNABLE" to collect my payment? all the info is up to date. it seems every time i turn around its something with ebay... (seeings i was not selling on ebay i really did not need to be paying them the 27.95 a month, but now that they have made it a issue) i will "fix it for them" that is correct, i will close my account seeings i cannot contact anyone at ebay because of the deplorable customer service and now not only will they not be getting my selling money, but they will be getting NO MONEY. i will say it again, EBAY HAS BECOME INCOMPETENT!

Customer support leaves a lot to be desired, so people come here as a last resort. I wish they could come here and get help but they often get ignored, criticized, mocked or outright attacked for their posts.

You've been in recent transactions. You can ask but eBay won't let you close your account until they age off the site. And they probably won't let you close your account if you have delinquent payments. Having your credit card on eBay to pay for purchases is not the same as attaching a credit card for your Seller Fees, the fees that don't come out of your payout
You should contact eBay through FB or Twitter. Nobody here can look into your account. You need to do that for sure and get that collections letter SQUASHED before it affects your credit rating.

thanks Espresso, your comment is spot on about the forum. my Dad always said the proof is in the pudding.
bottom line is i used to buy and sell well over a 1/4 million a year. with ebays new policies i cut the selling portion out, now i will be cutting out the buying part as well. ebay does not care, they CHOOSE to have vertually no customer support wich chases businesses like mine away.
wich begs the question, how are their policies working? is it working for ebay concerning me as a customer for ebay? is it working for my business concerning ebay? so are ebay policies working? i have been on ebay for over 16 years.....they dont care they have lost me? do that math and then ask if its a smart move.

i went in and paid the money to ebay. (up to this point over the years ebay automaticlly deducted it. (they deside for no reason to stop doing it and "i am to blame"? i am the one that goes to collections. (because EBAY CHANGED SOMETHING or made some new policy. its ok...i will pay it....then i will close my account. i do not respect ebay as a company. to all the other sellers here on ebay i wish you all well. i love small businesses and want to see them thrive. one thing i have learned over the years as a business is that if it is not working, if the market nitch has dried up, its time to move on and find another.

appreciate the sentiments flyingmvp, i think some of the "intangibles" ebays number crunchers dont see goes something like this..... dam, looks like we lost a seller! oh, no...we are ok another one just joined!
but lets look at that EVEN STEVENS seller swap out shall we.....
the seller they lost sold rare exotic woods that just cant be found any were else. it drew wood workers from all over the world to join ebay in order to buy those woods. HE IS GONE.
the new guy sells old sneekers he had building up in his garage....
are they the same? are they really????

Really sorry to hear this has came to this - others have posted recently (not about collections) about how their Store amount or whatever was no longer just coming out of the payment structure on file.
I spent over an hour today trying to get to my Paypal account, which is no longer linked to anything and it kept looping me to prove I was "me" and then it said it was "dormant", which it is not.....I pay my postage thru a card on file there......what a total, total mess.
Went back thru my buying account that the Paypal account was tied to and no email, nothing, telling me they were "un-tethering" it and to get with Paypal to "maintain" my account. Had not logged into Paypal in over a year (almost 18 mos) as I had not needed to. But jeepers.....what a time sux to get that done today.
There should always be policies and rules for us all to follow. But they should treat each Seller with respect and some of the emails and correspondence is written so poorly, about the only way to "feel" about it is just the opposite.
All the best to you. E-Bay does need to do a better job with communication and/or the ABSENCE of communication.

Had a similar experience. I received an odd demand notice from eBay recently saying my account was in danger of being in arrears. My fee payment sources were not available to them, it said, and advised me to check them, and to remit immediately.
I was quite alarmed of course and investigated quickly only to find nothing wrong with my attached bank account or credit card. These funding sources have been in place years.
It was apparently an error on eBay’s side. My credit card was not expired or on hold, and same for my bank, where there were ample funds to cover the billing.
After some lengthy efforts, I still don’t know what happened. Ebay cannot explain it. I remitted the “outstanding” amount with another credit card and subsequent eBay fees are still using the original payment sources for my fees.

interesting read, yes this falls in line with my business. (and i have set up a new web site to sell direct. will not launch it till next fall) sometimes the product "is the market" where ever that product is, that is were the market goes. (do not think ebay truely understands this) they best figure it out or they will soon be competing with customers that were once part of ebay.

thanks for the thoughtful reply. yes if ebay had REAL customer support your problem would be able to be solved quickly for both them and you to keep you up and selling. (benifits ebay and you) i dont know who the bone head is that desided ebay no longer needed TRUE customer support but they should be fired. its gonna cost ebay big time in the long run. (they always look short term) good luck to you, hope it all gets worked out.

gets hard to trust your relationship with ebay when things like that happen. most of us dont have days or weeks to spend tracking this nonsense down and figueing it out. (then you try to contact ebay to get some help and they are MISSING IN ACTION.) like talking to a fish and waiting for their answer....thanks for the efforts typing this. 😀
