my girlfriend and I tried to open a selling account on ebay. we live together have separate bank accounts, we both live off of social security but have chances to buy certain items from the state of North Carolina at rates sometimes 80 percent lower than retail.  so we can sell at a very low cost. but I think I know the reason ebay will not allow us an account. we both have different accounts just buying off ebay but have the same address. we have been living together for 7 years.  every time we try opening an account to sell. ebay sends a message that we do not meet ebay's policies and are a threat to ebay buyers. but they never give us a reason why. we even have called and some foreign speaking person comes on the phone that we absolutely cannot understand. so to begin with there is a communication problem. we are from the South and I realize that a lot of people do not understand Southern slang. but foreign people have their on problems they cannot pronounce American words at all. my girlfriend's first name is Connie but the lady from ebay called her conty. but any way can some one tell us why we do not meet ebay's policies. we used her bank instead of mine which is a smaller bank in tn. we list items to sell that mostly are computers. we give our home address which is the same because we live together.

You both cannot open an account 'together'.

1 or the other

1 Bank Account or the other.

But, I guess there is another underlying condition that eBay is blocking you.

If Ebay tells you they feel you are risk to the community, you will not be able to open an account or another account.  It doesn't matter who you live with, how long, how much you  make from social security or your relationship status.  If Ebay says no, then it's no. Having a southern drawl isn't preventing people from not understanding you.  The agents you spoke to are contracted outsourced labor and they only will tell you either yes or no.  They understood your question and the reply was no, as was also ebays reply.

No one here on this forum can help you other than to suggest perhaps to find another platform you sell your goods.

I wish you and Connie well with future selling opportunities on other platforms.

Happy Holidays.

Easy fix. Sell the computers on the same account and split the profits. You are correct, two sellers selling computers from the same house is a risk Ebay does not want to take.

It is a free country and eBay can deny you an account for any reason they want. No one here knows the specific reason they based their decision on.

When you create an account on eBay you give them the right to use third party services like credit agencies to evaluate your account.

Have you tried registering one of your existing accounts to sell with? What happened then?

If you have tried that, and you can't register to sell on any account, that means that either one of your accounts has been restricted from selling, or another account that is linked to one of your accounts has been restricted from selling.

When one account has been restricted, all accounts that are linked to it are also restricted. You're not allowed to open a new account or use an existing account to get around a restriction or suspension that has been applied to one account.
