My son never switched to the new payment plan for Ebay and sold something yesterday after not selling for about 3 years. How will he ever get his money as customer service no longer exists. The money didn't go into PayPal. Appreciate your assistance.

He has to sign up with ebays Managed Payments in order to receive his funds which requires he has an actual bank account for the deposit to be sent to.

Since 2021, eBay sellers were moved to 'eBay Managed Payments', so PayPal is 100% out of the picture for sellers.

As others noted he will need to sign up for MP and get the link established for a checking account. I would suggest a separate checking account for the eBay transactions. It is easier from a book keeping perspective and adds a little bit of extra security between the eBay funds and your personal funds. They are probably also going to request his SSN for income tax purposes. EBay will simply hold the funds until everything is setup correctly.

As a returning seller the payment will be Held for up to 30 days (21 if you are US-based) against your (son's) customer's satisfaction.
So you/he has time to get the account in place.
Note that Managed Payments needs the SSN and the CHECKING account information.
You won't need customer service but the employees are now assigned to social media accounts.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.
The phone clerks are subcontractors who can handle very basic questions.
