Spring Seller Check In March 7th Highlights

Event is live now. They did a round of very rapid-fire updates. Here's a recap:

Adam Ireland replacement is Dawn Block

Terapeak Product Research: coming to mobile.

- Launch timeline "so close".

- Sell through rate will come in a later release.

- Additional trend graphs and active listings will be in later updates.

- Anybody that attended the check in will be among the first users to have access once Product Research makes it to mobile.

New tool: Background Enhancement

- Remove background and choose creative and colorful backgrounds.

- No longer the case for pure white backgrounds to bring you higher in eBay search results and no longer required by Google.

- Still recommended to use simple background, but does not have to be white.

- Tool will launch on mobile. No ETA if/when coming to web.

Upcoming test: Sell Mode on mobile

- More robust selling functionality.

- Enhanced navigation instead of everything on one screen.

- Very small user group test in the next quarter.

Fashion update: End of month launching Preloved Partner Program

- US Pilot

- Invitation only

Fashion growth categories:
- Mens suiting growth, esp Ralph Lauren. Peak March/April/October
- Luxury Apparel $200-500 price point
- Coats & Jackets most significant YOY growth, and Carhartt is top 3 search term
- Athleticwear, especially branded hoodies
- Jeans top 10 search item - increase in search for baggy jeans

The sell mode on mobile sounds intriguing.

I expect the 'select sellers' to be invited to the Preloved Partner program will be the usual - Linda's Stuff,  Swapdotcom, etc.

@chapeau-noir  LOL! I applied for the Preloved Partner program....I have tons of clothing to list, but very little listed right now, so I don't think for a minute I'll be chosen, but what the heck...it only rook a minute...

And I guess I really need to dig out all my Carhartt jackets....

I'm waiting for the replays to be available to watch the breakout sessions I missed. 

I'm looking forward to having Terapeak (now "Product Research") on the app in time for yard sale season....and apparently as an attendee today, I'll in the first batch to get it.

Heck NO! Baggy jeans only look acceptable on really tall people! Plus they need to have absolutely no hips! (Can you tell I’m only 5’-1”)

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques  - Carhartt is hot - list those now! I didn't apply for the preloved program because it's too hard to find inventory these days so I'm getting to be less and less of a player - I seem to be selling more books right now (and some DVDs).

@msmaggie060  I see shorter women in baggy jeans with the hems rolled up over the ankles - it works!  Of course, "baggy" is pretty subjective, too - some pants are like big tents. I wear men's pants so I've always been able to get baggies, but for a while they had like two foot rises. 😒

@chapeau-noir  Looks like the Pre-Loved Partnership Program has around the UK for a while...here's a thread from the UK Community Board from Jan 2023....anyone seriously interested in the program might want to see if there is more info available on the UK site.

Is ebay EVER going to add combined shipping to app or just keeping lying and say their will like the last 6+ yrs. I almost lost a $80 sale last week and a bunch others over the years.
