Did you mean:

seller dashboard: Finish setting up your store to help improve conversion

I see I have this on my seller dashboard: Finish setting up your store to help improve conversion

What is the meaning of conversion here? If I don't, I'm dumped in views and searches?

I Googled it:

What does conversion mean?
Conversion is the act or process of changing something into a different state or form

thank you

@sextons-sweet-deals  First point: @slippinjimmy  is correct. Second point: If you do not finish setting up your store, it will not reduce your views or your position in search.

It is simply ebay's poorly phrased way of saying that using all the available features in your store might help you to make more sales. If you are a crafter, for example, a buyer who might be on the fence might decide to buy from you if you have a store video showing how you actually handcraft your item.

But it's all optional, and not doing it is not penalized by ebay.

A conversion occurs when a "user" views your listing page and clicks the buy button.

The user has been converted to a buyer! It's a standard term used in sales since forever and is one of the key metrics for any type of sales. Getting a customer to view your listing is important, even more important is converting them from a window shopper to a buyer.

I generally have a fairly low click-thru rate but a high conversion rate. This means that when interested buyers look at my listing pages the frequently make a purchase.

Right now I have a click-thru rate of 0.5% and a conversion rate of 7.6%

A high click-thru with a low conversion means that while users view your listing pages frequently they don't end up buying that often. It could indicate that buyers have interest but are not inspired by what they see on the item page.
