Just had an offer "Hello I'm very much interested in your item. Kindly text me back on (347) xxx -xxxx so we can discuss about payment and shipment . Thanks"
Wanted me to text for payment and shipping instructions. I responded thru ebay that I only accepted paypal, and the offer was then canceled. A definite scam that probably wanted to send me a cashiers check or similar.
Communicate with customer only thru the ebay network.

Hopefully you won't incur a violation for "taking a sale off ebay".

Same thing happened to me. Same message as from previous post about texting to discuss shipping. EBay cancelled the sale after I sent the (0) lu_52768 member an invoice with special FedEx shipping and the member unregistered their ID.
Was messaged by someone to complete an eBay transaction requesting strange shipping request to son as a present to an alternate location to discuss by TXT. User unregistered eBay ID before completing payment and shipment. EBay cancelled purchase stating suspicious buyer no longer registered.

I got the same message today, didn't see the email until I got another email from ebay saying the offer was rescinded. Number was 360-226-6483.

FWIW I sell on a social media type site, also, and this kind of thing comes up a lot there. It's so routine that sellers just flag the post and move on. Kind of funny because it's yet another twist on a scam that's as old as the internets. It must work just enough to keep it going, but obviously not here! ![]()

Dang I wish I knew this before I anxiously texted them back thinking I might possibly sell my first item. Oh well. My phone gets blown up every day by every country there is

Scam.
I had one where the person buys an expensive item. Has it for the holiday season and sends it back just before his 30 day free return, saying he didn't like it. Has over 6K feedbacks buying. My guess is he buys, try's to make a quick sale and if not, sends it back. Sound familiar?
