sales to Florida delay

I shipped a purchase on the 15th of Oct and tracking shows still in transit.  It went to near Tampa. I know the area was hit with the hurricane, but I thought most should have recoopered by now.

Any one else have packages waiting to be delivered ?

Re: sales to Florida delay

Honestly, I never check to see where my packages are going.

I also never check tracking on my packages unless the buyer reports a problem.

Makes me curious how many sellers do/don't.

@bigoljim47  I was chatting with someone a day or so ago who had a number of packages hung up in the Miami sort center that have started moving through again. They were hung up for quite a while - I'm thinking it's taking a while to get the stream going again.

Ebay does offer sellers protection to hurricane hit areas. So if they file a claim against you then I would suggest to call Ebay and explain the situation.

@inhawaii

With the hurricanes, I have kept an eye on packages going to those areas.

Everything has been delivered on time, so far.

Re: sales to Florida delay

I was just there, my parents live there. Florida is fine. Most of what you are seeing as “damage” is just layers of sand that got pushed inland and brining and freeze-drying of the landscape. The catastrophic damage is almost always relegated to areas directly on the coast and homes that aren’t built to modern standards. Below is 100 years of storm data.

Re: sales to Florida delay

I babysit my packages.

I check where they are going as the shipping cost may vary greatly based on how I package.

Don't have the baby monitor set up, but observe "delivered" on the orders page, and easily note if there appears to be an issue.

Not a monumental time-consuming task to monitor things that may impact my selling account.

I give you credit.

I wish I was as diligent.

I assume this got delivered. It never got scanned as 'delivered'. This was doing the hurricane there.

I don't contact buyers because it might have gotten delivered. Delivery for this was September 28th.
