Did anyone other than me see a 40+% drop in sales in April? It was the worst month I have had in over 5 years.
We sell Lego Duplo's and Barbie Clothes.

47% drop to be exact. Don’t believe it is eBay. It is the instability in our country..people losing their jobs, cost of groceries…it isn’t going to get better.

Exactly. My was about 47% also. My fear is that you are absolutely right.

Hi, Here in New Jersey we had a good March & April - (Up both months) - So far - May? - Not so much......

In January of 2023 was the last time I hit 40+ sales (my once normal number). This year in January, February, and March I dropped to 11 sales each month... the worst in my 20+ years on Ebay. Then in April I dropped to 9... and two of those were repeat customers. Today is the 7th and I've done 2 sales.

Up 14.6% over April last year. Granted, that's a lower rate of growth than previous months, but still not anything to worry about.

My April sales were identical to last year, but so far my May sales are up over 200%. Hope it continues.
I think we all have our months in the sun, so to speak.

We had crappy weather in April...some potential buyers paying more attention to tornadoes or soft-ball hail instead of buying...And also those who lost electricity...I tend to think it a more weather thing.
Can we get a solid month of perfect weather in the entire USA?...and then see what happens.
Sorry but Barbie clothes are usually a hot item for selling...I should know...my wife buys and buys that stuff all the time.
And Legos..are hot also...as an uncle of 5 boys under age 9...it's the only toy(s) they find hard to break.

No, my sales in April were double what they were in March but down from last year, which is expected.

My sales were worse in April than any recent month I can remember but not as bad as some report.
I've seen it all before during previous hard times. Only orders are after dark and generally only three or four days of the week, mostly weekends. Average order size is down.
Number of orders in May are on track for an average month. Average order size is recovering.
Some of my repeat buyers are missing and have been since the LA fires and other natural disasters.
Every day my number of watchers grows.
This too shall pass.

You had 3 Sales on the 4th and 1 on the 6th, Please explain how it's the 7th and you have had only 2 sales so far this month?

Instability? What are you talking about. Where I am at, people are driving high end cars, out shopping, eating at restaurants. Hell, even houses valued at 700k are still being bought up.
Dont assume everyone is in the gutter here. People losing jobs are the government workers who have been skating by in life.

Ya' can't undo April but you may need to work on your game plan for May and beyond. Lots of competition for discretionary funds in May and June - with Mother's and Father's Day, High School and College graduations, vacation trips, price of a Happy Meal keeps going up and other seller's of Legos and Barbie stuff want their fair share too, etc.
Selling anything always has it's ups and downs. Who said "When The Going Gets Tough, the Tough

Hear taxes are very plentiful too. Have two nieces in their 60's in the Simi/Oxnard area and they ain't too happy - lots of Calif transplants to states like, Nevada, Texas and Fla too. You are in the Ag area of Cali right - been to Tulare for a week.
