Did you mean:

received a suspension email and I am very concerned

last 6 months I have received 4  suspension emails

without giving a clear reason.

Each time, after calling customer service my account has been re-instated without any problem

I am an eBay seller since 2005 ( 16 years) with 100% positive feedback.

This to me is just unbelievable that this happens so frequently. It scares me that a long-standing business with 100% feedback can be shut down in an instant by some algorithm.

Would like to get some answers from other eBay sellers with the same experience.

best regards

Martin

Re: received a suspension email and I am very concerned

What did those 4 prior emails state occurred to cause the suspension?

Have not found e-Bay to be vague in their suspension writings.

Re: received a suspension email and I am very concerned

in my case very vague about the reasons for  suspension

Good afternoon land-in-america,

Your eBay account has been banned because we have noticed activity that we believe may pose a risk to our community.

This has the following consequences for you: - You can no longer buy or sell on eBay. In addition, all other eBay accounts that run under your name or that are linked to this eBay account have also been blocked. - All outstanding fees are due immediately and all amounts against which you have not yet filed an objection will be debited via the currently stored payment method.

Selling land has lots of caveats and is the likely cause of your issues.

Re: received a suspension email and I am very concerned

I would guess this under your acceptable payment methods......

Paypal , debit/credit cards, bank transfer, multiple crypto currencies.

As of now, they aren't acceptable on ebay as far as I can tell......and I would doubt they want this even in a real estate ad.....

just a guess.....

Re: received a suspension email and I am very concerned

I have similar problems. My account was restricted within 48 hours of a sale, meaning I could buy but not sell. I received a MC011 message which asked about tracking information, which was strange since my 3 day handling time had a day to go and I had used eBay shipping labels for the item. Unfortunately, I didn't see the MC011 message, sent the item out to the buyer, and didn't log back onto eBay after she received it.

I received nothing additional from eBay about this matter from that day on. This was back in late January. In April I logged back in to buy something. At that time I discovered the invoice for that sale was never paid, even though I received an invoice email in February from eBay informing me I had auto-payment on via PayPal and "... no further action was required on my part". I thought the invoice was paid back in February. So I paid my balance off right them, and got the message that my account was reinstated and I could buy and sell on eBay again. No mention of the other issue regarding the MC011 message. I bought what I came for and logged out.

Now ... I logged into eBay on July 21st. I wanted to sell a few items I had. I spent an few hours making my drafts for the listings. While logging, looking at similar items for pricing, going to my sellers hub, my dashboard, my account, nowhere was there any mention of any seller account restriction. No banners, no red flags, nothing in my messages. So after spending the time taking photos and filling out the drafts, I went to list an item. It was at this time I got a banner telling my account was "limited" and I had to register for the new Payment Management Program. OK ... so eBay wants to handle the money. Fine. So I fill out the forms, send the requested information and documents, and wait for a few days for the micro-deposits. After that I get a message telling me everything was awesome and I had been verified for the Payments. Great. I go to list one of my drafts, and BONK. I get another banner telling me my account was "limited" and I couldn't list any items. It said to check my messages to resolve the matter.

I check my messages and there is nothing other than the requests to pay my balance. That was already resolved. I had no balance and I could find nothing on the website to tell me what the issue was. Nowhere. Like the OP I had been using eBay (I once had a large eBay based business) so I was quite familiar with the website and where to look for things. My first thought was selling limits. Nope. Wasn't that. The seller hub said I could list 1000 items. I checked my balance again ... nope. It was zero. So I started to look at the email account I use for eBay. After going back 8 months I finally come across the MC011 message I received back in January. I receive everything eBay sends out sine I did not opt out on anything in my notifications preferences, so I had everything. The account was restricted due to this MC011 "tracking message" and no further correspondence was sent for 8 months regarding this.

I began trying to contact eBay at this point. This was July 24th. I have been on the phone 7 times. I was first told it was due to the Payments. It wasn't that. Finally one of the people mentioned the account was restricted in January and I had to reply to that message. Since it was no longer in "my messages" I tried to do it via the email. That doesn't work. Finally, the phone people began escalating the case sending it to the "back office" team. On August 11th I finally got a message informing me it was all about identification, and that I had to send documents, like my drivers license, a bank statement, and a purchase receipt for the item I sold in January. So I did all this and here we are on Aug. 17th and nothing has happened. I have not received anything further other than the message requesting the documents. I still cannot list items.

Why I got restricted in the first place is still vague. I got an MC011 message about tracking information, but I used eBay shipping labels purchased through the item sale and it was during the handling time for the item. So those of you who say eBay "is not vague about issues" are dead wrong. I have been given no explanations, got "bait and switched" into the Payment Program, and I have received no explanation as to what happened or what is going on now. The people on the phone seem lost as to why, and see that I complied with all the requests, yet they are powerless to do anything directly. Customer service in the "back office" is functionally no customer service at all. Thank god this is not my old eBay business. These things never happened back then, and I could call and get a person on the phone who actually work any issues to resolution.

Well ... I posted my items on Swappa and Etsy and I now have a Amazon seller account (individual). I don't think I need eBay anymore. It has become a very badly run bureaucracy.

@john_lerouge

It will be better to start your own thread about your situation rather than posting in another member's thread. Having two members explaining completely different scenarios becomes confusing for both the OP and the people trying to respond to the OP.

If you start your own thread, it will be about you and your circumstances, rather than "hijacking" someone else's thread and having the waters muddied by replies to both of you.

Re: received a suspension email and I am very concerned

It is relevant, since he asked for experiences and solutions others have had. My reply needed to be qualified, since these matters are complex since we are dealing with algorithms. Basically, I have told him that resolution to these issues are not simple matters and take a great deal of time and effort to resolve. Time and effort better spent elsewhere.

My solution was to move to other platforms. If eBay does not want the $1,000 in fees my items will generate, I am happy to give it over to to other competing platforms. I applied and was approved for seller accounts on three other platforms, well within the time frame eBay is taking to resolve this singular issue. Creating a seller account for Amazon is a complex process to do, including a required video conference with an Amazon staffer to verify who you are. It took me about a week to create these accounts on these other platforms, and that is what I recommend he do if he wants to sell things, or even simply buy.

I doubt eBay will miss you....

You became a security risk which is a MC011.

Almost impossible to get resolved even with information asked for.

It does have to do with major changes in account activity such as : amount of sells ,log in information and more of course can trigger such.

A fast look : an account that was used for purchasing finally listing an item in a high scam and or counterfeit area just might have triggered yours....

Good luck to were ever you moved to....

----------------------------------------------------------------------

As for the real estate seller that started the topic.

Your payment methods are most likly the trigger for this.

You offer nothing through eBay for payments it seems.

I suspect you will be getting more of the same... A bit erratic in your account usage for sure also...

Re: received a suspension email and I am very concerned

land cannot be delivered.....so no global delivery program

also, the managed payment service does not work  for real estate

payments can be in any form ...

eBay Real estate policy

Real Estate Classified Ad listings do not result in feedback, because the format aims to generate multiple leads rather than a single high bidder. When this contact information is forwarded to sellers via email, sellers are obliged to treat the potential buyers' contact information in full compliance with our User Privacy Notice. Once buyers and sellers make contact through these listings, they can, as noted above, then proceed to discuss off the website purchase terms, including price, inspections, and the like, as is customary in an offline real estate transaction.

Auction-Style Format Items

Auction-style format advertisements for the sale of real estate are designed to assist the parties in identifying the most interested potential buyer(s). The listings do not result in binding agreements to buy and sell real estate; however, they do allow sellers and buyers to use eBay Real Estate as a venue to determine who may be most interested in the property. In this format, potential buyers are asked not to bid unless they intend to complete the purchase of the advertised property, subject to customary diligence and contingencies.

Re: received a suspension email and I am very concerned

This one says you are "banned".  Game over, done.

I was referring to the (4) previous Suspension emails.  What did they say?  A Suspension email typically spells out what the infraction is, etc.  It should be used as your guidepost to not do it again and avoid further suspensions, which after 4, appears created the account "ban".  A "ban" is different than a suspension.  Really different.

Re: received a suspension email and I am very concerned

Well I sold my items elsewhere ... so there is that. The problem is not the MC011 message, which you say is a risk thing since it clearly stated it was about tracking information. The problem is about algorithms doing the investigative work and then taking action without human intervention. I have sold one item since 2017 when I opened this account. There is nothing "tricky" about anything I have done, now or in the past. That's what has everyone, including the phone people on eBay, as to why this happened. There is nothing in my eBay history that would have triggered this. The other issue is the time one has to invest just to list a few items on eBay once something like this happens.

To imply I have am a risk to the eBay community and make the implication I am better off being gone is insulting at worst, and unjustified at best.
