"We had a concern with a buyer’s account" Email after we shipped the item

Never had this happen.  It's been so busy in-store and online that I come in early and pack all the overnight Ebay orders before my postal pickup. It has been earlier everyday since they are trying to get a head start for the day.  I just come in and get started right away.  Well, today I got everything packed just in time for my pickup, sent it out then unlocked the doors for the in-store holiday shoppers.  It's been busy all day and I finally got a chance to sit down to emails to find a Ebay email stating " We had a concern with a buyer's account".  Come to find out they shut down the account due to fraud.  The email said if you already shipped to try to get the package back.  Well, It's after 4pm and my post office is closed so no way to stop it now.  It would be great if Ebay would put some kind of red alert on the actual purchase so you can't ship.  Or a Red alert notification on your account where you can see it.  The notification came in too late so not sure that would have mattered.  Anyone ever had this happen?  What happens to the purchase?

Actually you can file for an intercept on the package there is a cost for that service.

Most sellers that have been here for a long time have received such messages (I the distant past I got them on a regular basis), I have not actually of ANY seller where their transaction had any kind of issue related to this type of notification.

 

Standard Seller Protection still applies, eBay makes it sound like they want to help you out but the reality is that eBay will be the one paying the price if there is a problem.

 

Suggest you just assume all will go well.

 

FYI - When eBay suspends a buyer account they send out these boiler plate messages to any and all sellers where there has been a recent transaction, not sure what "recent" is but I've received this type of notice well AFTER the delivery date.

It has happened, you are protected under the seller protection.   You dont have to do anything unless you really want to try to get the item back.  You will still keep your money.  When this has happened to me, it usually is a week later, which is kinda funny, "if you haven't shipped yet",  a week later.

@ryry-jj  That was my thought on the seller protection.  I was't too worried about the money, just thought to myself that it was wierd to get the email after the fact.  I laughed when I read the part " If you haven't shipped yet"  and  " try to get the shipment back".  If you've ever tried to get a packaged back from the postal service, then you know.  Not only that, but the cost to do so.   Glad to get someone elses view when it has actually happened to them.   Thank you for taking time to respond.  Have a Merry Christmas.

Just happened to me. Got the "We had a concern with a buyer’s account" msg on eBay and email but didn't check before taking the item to PO. Luckily my PO is 5 mins away so I went back and easily got the package back with postage refund.  The buyer was a longtime eBay member with 100% feedback but no activity for 6 months.  First time this ever happened to me but I'll be more diligent in the future.

This has happened to me before.

Since you already shipped the item DISREGARD the message.

You already got paid.

Ebay will not "take back" the funds.

No further action is necessary.
