This is an FYI to people here. I've been slowly auditing my listing quantity inventories. It's a lengthy process especially since I hate doing inventory.

After I correctly audit each listing's inventory, I add a "My Note" in that listing to signify that the listing has already been audited. I just noticed that after adding the note to one listing... ebay automatically added that same note to 2-3 other listings (randomly I think). This doesn't happen 100% of the time... but it doesn't have to in order to make the entire notes unreliable. This causes a lot of trouble for me and other sellers who use the notes.

I guess I now have to create my own checklist rather than rely on the accuracy of ebay's notes system.

Thanks for the heads up. Did you refresh the page? That happened to me before and when I refreshed the page the notes were only on the item I adjusted.

I use "My Notes" extensively and have not had this happen. If you happen to have multiple items checked, you'll still only get a SINGLE "My Notes" window and it will populate ALL of the items you have checked. Don't know if that's what you are doing or not.

@coffeebean832 TBH, I can't remember if I refreshed the page or not. I press F5 every now and when on my pages as a habit. But I can't specifically recall if I did that before noticing the glitch. But I'll keep that in mind.

Yes, I understand what you are saying. But I've stopped doing that method since ebay opted me into their new Active Listings page awhile back. Since then, they've added the "add/edit note" function within the actions column of each individual listing. At first I thought that maybe the glitch happened because I had possibly originally grouped up those 2-3 listings when I created the note (pretty much the method what you described) awhile back.

I failed to mention (because I thought it was irrelevant) that I did not create these notes from listings that didn't have any. I edited the note that I previously created. So when I edited the existing note of a listing, it auto-edited the notes in the other listings that were originally "grouped" when I created the note. Again, I'm just guessing here.

Hmm, strange. I just test edited a single note today that I had group added to 3 listings earlier today. When I did the edit, it only edited the 1 and NOT the 3.

Can't explain your issue at all. Will hate to have this glitch. I use Notes extensively on my active listings. If that ever fails for me, I'm up a creek.

Yes, I use notes extensively too for various functions. So it will screw me up too if the notes section is breaking. I only hit the glitch one time, it hasn't happened again so far as I'm editing notes. I'll report back if I'm able to replicate the issue.

So FYI, this just happened to me again. I think because I was changing a bunch of Notes just now... I hardly ever do this at this scale. It's usually one note a day or so.

But I've been changing around about 20 listing ebay notes. So I chose a listing to specifically revise an existing note. I then noticed that the revision applied itself to the listing and 2 additional listings directly below it on my list. Those two listings below it already had ebay notes before the glitch changed them. So then I went to delete those notes from those two listings as they don't need any notes anymore. After I did that I noticed the glitch also deleted the original note that I revised on the first listing. So now all three listings has zero notes. I went ahead and re-added the note to the first listing and let it be. If I'm not on my toes, this glitch can really mess with my organization system.

BTW, just a heads up that the glitch is still active. I created two listings 3 days ago and added the same comment to both on the "My Note" section. I added them with the bulk option by checking both boxes and typing the same comment.

Today I wanted to edit one of the comments but not the other. Luckily the other listing is displayed adjacently to this one. Because when I submitted the edit (by clicking onto the pencil icon), I noticed the revision was done to BOTH listings. Just is just a heads up for you since I know you use the notes extensively... best to never add notes with the bulk option and I'd say better safe than sorry to not revise with the pencil icon. I doubt they'll ever fix this glitch until they re-invent the entire Seller Hub again.

Others have reported issues with notes added to watch list items being lost or notes from other items being placed in the wrong items notes. Have you checked this issue using different browsers or devices? have you cleared your browser data?

I've had issues with notes, too. I don't add or edit in bulk so my issue is different.

I've had problems deleting notes and editing notes. The system keeps reverting back to the original note.

I'm not sure if this would be the same functionality or not, but a week or so ago, I added a couple of notes to a few listings by other sellers that I was watching, but couldn't get the page to save them at all. I thought I was done adding a comment, clicked the Save button or whatever it was, and... nothing. The notes to myself would simply blip out of existence as soon as the page refreshed.

(Full disclosure: I didn't bother reporting the problem at the time, because it's all but impossible to get anything fixed around here, so I reserve my shrieking for genuinely critical problems, where it doesn't really work there either.)
