This box (Display a large photo in search results with Gallery Plus $1.00) has been checked off on a few of my listings. I caught two and changed them. I got charged for 1. I did NOT check this box! I can tell Ebay has done an update of some type and, all of a sudden, this box is checked.  Is anyone else having this issue?

@queencleo614 Some categories (like collectibles) get free gallery plus.  Others don't.  eBay did some major category changes/moves in May 2021.   They told us that in some cases this might affect fees when the GTC fixed price item rolls over.

I know that this isn't exactly what you are saying. But, is it possible your item had this checked and eBay moved it to a category where gallery plus isn't free?   I had this happen to me on a couple of items.

Many of us have had this happen with not knowing why the box was checked.  I recently had the "bold title" box checked where they charge a whopping $4 for a truly useless feature.  I listed four items before I noticed, two of them for items under $5.  I immediately revised the listings to uncheck the box knowing it would change nothing but at least it will not relist.  I still have no idea how or why it happened.  My best guess is that I used the sell similar function from another seller who had foolishly checked that box and then Ebay made that the default on my future listings, a truly nefarious practice.  It would be nice if Ebay had a 12 hour rule to change such listing errors, but corporate America never plays nice.

Many reasons why this can happen, but since you sell in the collectibles category I'd bet it's either:

• You did a sell similar from one of your collectibles listings where the box is checked because it's a free upgrade, but you changed the category and didn't uncheck the box.
• Your listings underwent a category shift May 11 moving from a collectibles category to another category when eBay implemented category changes. Since the box was already checked off that meant a fee was charged when the listing renewed in June. This is a likely cause, so check all your listings that are set to renew between now and June 11.

It's also possible you checked the box by accident. The Gallery Plus and Bold Title check boxes are sensitive if you click within their vicinities.

We have to read everything in every listing before publishing because ebay has a history of changing the lengths of auction listings right before our eyes.  Of course it changes from 7 days to 3 days and that's a buck.

Nothing surprises me on here anymore.
