question: new to GTC

Does the hit count on a GTC item reset to zero with each automatic relist?

Are you talking about the number of views? One benefit of GTC is that you retain the count on the number of views. After 60/90 days of being listed, the aggregate views count should help you make decisions about your listing.

Simply, no. The quantity remains the same as the last day before the renewal. It does not automatically go to the original amount unless you un-list it and relist it again using the original data. If you have a zero quantity when the listing renews, it remains at zero until you revise the quantity (ebay will credit you if that listing is on zero for a month, however they may also remove it without notification, but that instance is rare).

I don't think the OP is talking about quantity.

@keziak   I think you are talking about views as another has stated.  Is that true?

Please clarify.

[to clarify, I'm asking about views]. are you saying they keep the number of views until 90 days and then it resets to zero?

The views continue accumulating until the listing sells or is ended.  I believe they just meant that after 60/90 days if you only have 3 views it might help you decide whether to end it or not.

It keeps the # of views and watchers until it is sold or canceled......    the active listing will stay up for as long as you want it to, unless it sells.........no 90 days involved.   The reset only comes after a cancellation and relist.......

Thanks all!

Still haven't really figured out how I am going to make this work.

Apologies, that wasn’t a clear answer. The nunber of views accumulates until the listing ends. After a couple of months, consider whether you need a better title, price, pix, description, depending upon whether the number of views seems high or low.

My GTC views start over at 0. I’ve used it for a long time.

That's interesting; mine have always kept the views, into hundreds. I wonder why the difference?

One of the ways I decide whether or not to continue a listing is to watch the number of views.

Once a GTC listing reaches 100 views without selling (most of my items are OOAK ) then I close it and either move it to another marketplace or just end it.

Ending it puts it in my Unsold List for 90 days after which I can make a more permanent decision.

If 100 customers have seen it, and no one bought it, it's gone.

No, views keep adding. It is just one more good thing about GTC of several.

Not afraid to ask a dopey question. When it comes to monitoring the views on your listings how do you decide which listings to check? Do you go into them all routinely?

I don’t know. My GTC always get a new item number and the counter resets. I guess it’s still the same. It hasn’t been long enough to know since the change happened so I could be wrong now. I’ll keep an eye on my listings to see if it’s changed.
