payment refunded?

Hi all.

So i sold an item, and the buter paid for it yesterday. Today there is an asterisk next to the "$" sign and it says "your payment has been refunded".  Al.so, under the "see description" column it says "-$4.00 adjuastment". I just messaged the buyer so he hasn/t responded yet.  I was just about to print out a bunch of label to mail out today. Any idea why the payment got refuded?  I didn't refund him. t was a 50 cent card so it's not a huge deal.

Nevermind.. i checked my PayPal account, they refunded it because the buyer didnt have a postal address on file with them even though one showed on EBay. So i guess the guy can't pay via PayPal. I cancelled the order officially.

How did the transaction go through in the first place then??
