offer not showing in sent folder or anywhere else

hi. a buyer messaged me asking if he could add film to a camera i have listed. i used the reply with offer feature to send him an offer for the listing plus film. i don’t see that offer in my sent folder or anywhere else. i didn’t get an email saying it has been sent. i don’t want potential customer to think i’m just not responding, as i’d love to sell some film along with the listing. is it normal for it to go through and me not being able to see anything saying it’s pending?

also, the listing has watchers and when i sent the offer a window popped up saying he had a day or two to respond. if the listing sells the offer will go away, right? i figure ebay won’t let you sell a listing twice, but who knows and i do not have two of that camera.

Yeah ... offers sent in messages don't show anywhere for the seller 😞

For the buyer, they can find the offer in their My eBay>>Bids and Offers

When I use the message offer, I always send a separate message telling the buyer where to find the offer and reiterating the offer itself.

And, yes, if someone else hits the "Buy it Now" button, or if you accept a different offer before they respond ... that first offer is no longer valid.

If you look at the item in question, the offer should show up in the normal offer area.  There are no other emails or records to be found.   It will act as any other offer and cancel out if the item sells to someone else.

Yes, good point but I am tentatively going to say it will show up even if offers wasn't on the original listing.  I asked on the weekly chat and don't recall them telling me if offers wasn't on the original listing that there will be no record. 

I know, if you want to send me an email on one of my non-BO listings and I'll send you an offer, then I will see if I can find the offer.  I'm really curious now.

Okay, I sent the offer and went to my ebay and it now says "Review all offers" and when I click on that it takes me to the normal offer screen.  There under "Email offers" is the generous $1.00 offer you made.

On the buyer side, it does NOT show in "Bids and Offers", but it is in Messages with a link to review the offer.

(Woo-hoo $1 AND free shipping ... whatadeal!!)

They must have changed it recently ... the last time I sent an offer via messages, there was no message or "Offer" visible on my end.

I wasn't aware that eBay's offer system supported that kind of change to what's being sold.

@fern*wood and @penguins_dont_fly i very much appreciate the research and answer. that was not showing for me so i assume my offer did not go through. which is fine because the item sold last night. i imagine including film involves losses like buyers returning opened, half-used film packs anyway.

@thatsallfolks i’m not sure it technically does, but sellers have done similar things for me — such as selling a specific part from a for-parts item in exchange for lower price and free shipping — so i figured why not. it gives you a box to write in sale details. though it didn’t go through, so maybe you can’t have an offer above the list price.

On My Ebay (I'm not on seller hub), right above More Actions where it normally just has Sell Similar, it now shows Review all Offers.   Then, when you click on that it takes you to the offers screen, which has a section for regular offers and separate section for email offers.
