I am selling a old phone of mine for $332 and I printed the shipping label, went over to the UPS store and asked how much a box is, I bought the box and left the phone there when he said he will ship it. that was this morning, its 1:24 now and I still have not recieved the payment. paypal says $332.66 on hold, how will I recieve my payment? I have already shipped the item, but from what I have heard you are supposed to recieve the money after the item ships. am I incorrect? does anyone know how to help me, or can someone tell me what I did wrong? $300 is alot of money to me, i really dont want to get scammed/not recieve the money. thanks.

Well, I said I was confused! The OP said, 'I printed the shipping label, went over to the UPS store and asked how much a box is, I bought the box and left the phone there..." without mentioning paying for the shipping.

The OP never said he didn't print the label through ebay. I think maybe he did and he was given a receipt? I've dropped prepaid UPS packages at the UPS store and they printed me a receipt with the tracking number on a sticky label.

Second that. Our local UPS Store seems to use peel-off, sticky-backed labels for all their transactions in all their printers, including pre-paid package dropoff receipts that are just going to be handed to the customer and won't be used on any box either then or in the future. Seems a little wasteful, but what do I know...

My eyes completely missed that, and I even went back to look for it.

OP, you sold a phone....you ARE going to get scammed if you haven't been already.
First off - I'll bet a nickel that your pending payment is an e-check - that is going to bounce in a couple of days after you enter tracking.
Second off, you left a $300 item in the hands of a 'guy' who is going to pack and ship the item, and all you did was buy a box. I had UPS pack and ship something once and it cost me for their time and other packing materials - you do not throw a phone in a box and expect it to get there intact.
To be honest, you did everything wrong and everything you did means that you are going to lose the phone AND money. Tell me, what are you going to do when the buyer gets the box and claims that it is empty?
If I were you - I would go back and get the phone OR get proof that they shipped it OR recall the package and open it in front of the UPS supervisor.

Yes, and UPS can recall/redirect shipment back also.
