ebay you really need to step in on some of this vero nonsense. 1st sale doctrine works on exports as well. levis knows im not one of their distributers and that i bought these retail they cant stop me from selling to europe. im old i just dont have the time money or energy to protest it in court and thats what they are counting on. so i just dont sell the two pairs of jeans a year i sell to europe. its just ridiculous

No it doesn't! US laws only apply within the US.

Ironic that for years Levis tolerated the illegal diversion of their product overseas, especially to Asia. This diversion led to massive organized theft in stores in the US. You might remember those street signs "We buy your Levis" which were placed by well known fence operations that would ask no questions. That together with Levis telling decades old accounts like my own that our store now needed to meet their new requirements caused me to most gleefully tell Levis to take a hike before they cut me off and I ended our decades long relationship with the company. I never did look back as selling Levis was always a loss leader.

Exported items have different rules and restrictions. Levi's has had export restrictions for decades.
